Alice had her two month shots a couple days ago (which I was NOT happy about whatsoever, but I won't make this into a rant/debate about shots. I may change pedis though...) and a check-up.

Alice now weighs exactly ten pounds and is growing perfectly. The pedi said her skills were at a three-month level, whatever that means lol. The only remaining concern is her right eye... she has had some sort of infection since birth that has not been cleared up with any meds. Her eye produces a LOT of green "goop", and the surrounding areas are a little red. We have been to the doc several times for this, and the ER once when she spiked a fever. The pedi FINALLY listened to me and referred us to a pediatric opthamologist. That appointment is on the tenth of this month, so I will update afterward. I am really hoping this new round of medication will help the infection before we even go to that appointment. It does not seem to hurt or bother her at all, so I am glad for that.

So I am going to add some new pictures from the past week or so. Hope you enjoy!

LOL at that last picture!

I would think after some rounds of antibiotics that any infection would be cleared up.....I'm guessing here but could her tear duct be closed?
Also try putting some breastmilk in it, if its an infection that helps also.

Ian had the same problem also, I just put some saline drops in it a few times a day, and always kept it wiped up and clean - he finally got over it about 5 or so months.

She is sooo adorable i love the picture of her making the o face

Thats what I was thinking angela... i use warm compresses and stimulate her tear duct to try to help that. The pedi brushed off this problem for over a month before I forced her to culture the goop. Turns out it IS infected (even though they repeatedly told me it wasn't! ERGH, whatever). And now the experience we had with the shots... I am thinking of looking around for another pedi, SOON. I feel like my concerns were completely not listened to with both issues and I am peeved!

Aww, how cute! I hope you get the eye problem cleared up. Matthew had a blocked duct and infection awhile back, but it was cleared up by the antibiotic. I also put breastmilk on it.

Thanks ladies... we are going to the pedi opthamologist on the tenth, so we're hoping he can better answer our questions. I did mention blocked duct to pedi (i had it as a baby, I am told) but she just totally brushed me off.
