I can understand your uneasiness.
<<related unrelated snake story>>
In high school I went tent camping with a bunch of friends and it had been a rainy week. We were supposed to go out on a backpacking trip away from the main camp for a night but it was so wet we decided to cancel. I had my pack all packed though so I pulled out what I needed to stay at the main camp in our large 6 person tent (i.e. my sleeping bag, bug spray, flashlight, etc.) and left the rest of my pack all packed in case the weather was nice the following day we were going to go out then.
That night I got into my sleeping bag as normal. I woke up a few hours later and thought to myself. "Why did I unpack my extra clothesline/rope (that I use to tie things to my pack)?" It was rather uncomfortable with this rope in my sleeping bag with me. So I wake up enough to realize a little Garter Snake had found a nice warm/dry spot to spend the night in my sleeping bag with me. He must have snuck in through a not fully zipped tent zipper. I woke up my friend sleeping next to me to show her (no one was going to believe me in the morning otherwise!) and brought him outside to a nice far place from the warmth of our tent. And you know what worried me more than the snake? The fact that I would get in trouble from one of the adults if they found out I had left my tent without shoes on (it was the one big "camp rule").
I checked my sleeping bag for visitors after that.

Gross! How big is the skin? Is it just a little snake? Little snakes don't really freak me out.

The snake I found was not even a foot long and no thicker than my thumb. If it had been bigger (or had I been more awake) I might have freaked out more.

I "think" I would freak out too but I'd be excited too. I'm weird like that.

OCK!!!! I hope someone comes in and checks it out!! One day of excitement would be fine with me but knowing that it's possibly still in there and getting bigger would freak me out a bit.
