Because you may as well laugh as cry, right? This is after a seemingly good day in which naps were had and all was well and right with the world.

Number of sleepers (and we haven't even gotten to the middle of the night feeding yet): 4
Number of hours bedtime took (after bath): 3.5
Number of hours spend nursing: 2.5?
Number of bottles refused: 1
Number of hours Matthew was awake straight (not counting short catnaps he took before he spit up and woke up again): 5.5
Number of ounces of milk vomited on the kitchen floor: approximately 1

Annnnnd, woke up after sleeping for 4 hours, just got him down and now he looks like he's waking up again.

Is it any wonder I feel like a crappy mom? I must be doing something wrong because I don't think other people have these problems.

He finished his last nap at 6:45 pm and got his bath at 8:30, was that waiting too late? I don't know where I went wrong, he napped pretty well during the day b/c I got him down once he showed the slightest sign of being tired.

Morgan, this is a worse than usual evening/night, but the general idea is the same, just not as extreme.

I started him on Prevacid yesterday morning. Accidentally got half of it in the carpet trying to use the syringe, so he's only had one half dose so far.

Shan, have a look to see if you can find a dropper like this:

measure out his medicine on a sterile spoon or bowl and try trhe dropper - squeeze it into his cheek. i found kirsty was great with a dropper but choked and spat out everything with a syringe.

how does he nap in his pram if you are out walking? i have found that Kirsty will have a great sleep in the pram, I usually leave her out in the garden in her pram for her midday sleep, pop an insect net over it and he'll be fine outside. The fresh air helps them sleep longer for some bizarre reason. I also find the background noise of cars passing, birds tweeting, etc, helps her sleep better!

If it would work for him to have an hour or 2 in the pram in the garden, at least you'd get one decent sleep from him.

My friend's baby is just over a year and has taken every nap since birth in her pram outside (except if she's out in car or something).

p.s, use sterlising fluid to keep the dropper clean - not sure it can go in a micro steriliser, it might ,melt!

p.p.s. if he is reluctant to take his meds, try a few drops of your milk in it so its a bit more familiar tasting.

You poor mommy. Hang in there because it will get much better with time. It use to take me forever to get Oliver to sleep when he was that age. It could take up to 3 hours. From what I remember it got a little better around 3-4 months.

Thanks Fi, the meds went better this morning. I held the tablet (it dissolves) in his mouth against his cheek and put water in with a dropper and he did okay with that. A lot easier than all the dissolving particles getting stuck in syringe or dropper. I can't give it with milk unfortunately since it has to be given on an empty tummy for full effectiveness. I have to wait 2 hours after he's eaten and 30 minutes before, which is a challenge with as much as he eats! Luckily I can distract him a bit after he wakes in the morning and keep him fairly content before he can get his booby.

He likes stroller walks, dunno if he would sleep during them, but unfortunately it is SO darn hot here. Like 90-100 degrees every day. I look forward to fall because then I will be able to go out with him more.

I hope it gets better soon. I thought I always heard the first 2 months are the hardest and we are past that and it's still really tough. I am feeling pretty down about and like I'm not a good mommy.

Chloe likes her pram as well ....

In mornings I put her in there with her snuggle cloth about 8.30 and shes gone in seconds ... this morning she slept from 8. 30 - 10.30 .... she would have gone longer but I woker her as if she does have a long sleep ( very, very rarely) I don't let her go over 2 hours !!

Listen lady, you TAKE IT BACK! You are not the only mom going through this and you are most certainly not a bad mom! You repeat: I am a great mom. I am not the only one going through this
