Alice's ophthalmologist appt. was today. After waiting for THREE hours (not counting the fact that we were 25 min. early) we were finally seen and talked to for about half an hour. I was annoyed with the wait, but she seemed to know what she was talking about and was thorough, even if she was rushed. They said pretty much exactly what I knew they would say... Blocked duct, massage the duct, use warm compresses, wipe the eye with the ointment to fend off infection, etc. If it persists until Alice is a year old, they will want to anesthesize her and use a probe to manually open the duct. We have a follow up appt next week (not sure of exact day yet) to look at the eye again and see if the infection is cleared up at all. The doc said that the eyes themselves are very healthy... it is the right duct tht is causing probs.
THREE HOURS are you ***** kidding me??? That's insane. The longest I've had to wait (aside for my one 7 hour ER visit wait) is one hour. Three hours is just ridiculous.
Anyway... I'm glad it's nothing serious. Did she say she expected it to clear up before a year? That's a long way away!

Thank you GraysMama for my beautiful siggy!
I'm glad its nothing serious and I hope it clears up soon! The 3 hour wait was ridiculous though, did they at least apologize for making you wait so long?
