Night time has been rough the past couple nights. Oliver is crying on and off the whole night in his sleep. He tosses and turns and cries at least every hour or more. I try to comfort him but nothing seems to work. I got some Hylands teething tablets yesterday but I don't think they helped much. I gave them to him after he had already been up crying on and off. I got some Motrin but did not give it to him yet. Maybe tonight I will give him Motrin before bed time. I just hate to give him meds unless it's a last resort. It's his front two teeth that are about to come in. I think..

How did your baby act when teething at night?

Landen is acting the same way. Right now I am just rocking him until he falls back asleep because I hate giving him meds too, but I will last resort also. I am ordering amber teething beads in a min I hope they work!

Kirsty has woken up within 2 hours of going to bed about 9 nights out of 10, for the last 3 months now. It's an instant awake and screaming, there's no calming her - I used to be able to cuddle her & put her back down, now I have to BF.

So many people have told me this can be a sign of teething. I guess it can have any type of effect on their day or night habbits! Frustratingly! In the UK we have Calpol (infant paracetomol), I gave it to her every night before bed for a week - not so good I know, but after 3 months of this I had to try something. It had no bearing on the waking up though, it still happened.

I bought an amber necklace, the first 2 days she wore it, she didn't wake up crying but thereafter she did so I don't really think it helped. I think it was coincidence.

When Ben is teething fierce, I do give him Motrin before bed and it really seemed to help us. Now I can usually tell during the day if he's teething and don't wait for him to wake in the night - I just give it to him before bed. For awhile we were doing it a lot, and I thought for sure I would get him addicted to it, but we haven't used it in a long time (knock on wood), so I feel better knowing I did help him feel better through that miserable mess. Ben cut 3 teeth at 6 months, and 4 teeth from 10-11 months. It was MISERABLE for all of us.

Conner's 2 bottom teeth are coming in right now as well...I can't give you any advice though because he's fine at night still. It's about 5 pm when he really gets upset and chomps on his hands/the teethers. But at bedtime he's fine. I hope you find something that helps Oliver soon!

does he like ice? make a juice slushie and let him eat that. The cold will help out (as would a frozen waffle, if hes eating solids) I would suggest a half a dose of motrin at night before bed. Good luck!!

I know your pain! Cambria cut 8 teeth in 5 months. She was BAD! I tried everything but nothing really worked. Our problem was here waking in the middle of the night cause of teething. She would never want to go back to bed and still wakes and doesn't want to go back to bed.

Brayden wasn't a bad teether, he'd get fussy and I gave him a small dose of tylenol.....I prefer that to motrin.
