Had my ultrasound this morning. I cried the whole time, at first out of fear and then out of excitement. There was a mixup with my appointment time but the ultrasound took me right in and checked everything out.
I'm measuring a couple days ahead which is great!
I saw the HB flickering away immediately and just keep thinking about it. So amazing. 146 bpm....and then she told me to hold my breath, focused in on the HB and next thing I knew we were hearing "WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH"!!!!! So not only did I get to see it but I got to HEAR it!!!!
We are now referring to the baby as "pirate" because to us it looks like it has an eye patch. When I pointed it out, the ultrasound tech said "ARRRR MATEY!". So its sticking.
I just couldn't be more relieved and excited. We have a healthy pirate growing!

Mom to Seamus (7.18.06) and Kieran 4.8.09). Seamus has Aspergers, SPD, Lazy Eye and is also Color Deficient/Blind, basically he doesnt' see green or red. I'm still learning more but feel free to ask me about it if you have any questions!

I'm so happy and relieved for you, Heather. I remember being quite distraught going into that first scan. It's such a miracle to see there is actually a little embryo growing in there. Congrats!

I was already crying when we went in, because I just had a rush of emotions of last time we did an ultrasound and what we saw (or didn't see). Immediately we saw the little flicker...and I just lost it. She even did everything abdominally so I didn't have to worry about spotting. I couldn't be more thrilled.
