I'll try to keep this as short as possible Yesterday I found a rash on Conner's back. It looked like heat rash to me but I wasn't 100% so I take him to the doctor's today to make sure nothing was wrong. This doctor...first of all, I couldn't understand a THING she said. She's from Puerto Rico and spoke terrible English. She lifted Conner up by his arms into a sitting position, during which time he was looking at a huge poster behind him so he didn't pick his head up right away...so she informs me that I need to take him to physical therapy. PHYSICAL THERAPY!!!! She looked at him for, I do not exagerate, less than 45 seconds and told me that. She did no other excersizes with him, she did not do the lift again to see if he'd do it...nothing. After that we discussed his weight because even though he has gained since his last visit (yay Conner!) he isn't where she wants him. I kind of argued a little bit, not over him needing to gain weight (I totally agree there), just over how to handle the situation best. She then goes to me "How old are you?" and I said 20...and she nods and goes "Ohh" In that kind of "Well that explains it, clearly you're an incompetent mother because you're too young" kind of voice. And so on and so on with the terrible things..

Anyway, I leave and I'm just shaking I'm so mad. We get home and I tell Nic everything that happened....and he was TICKED!! Like I have never seen Nic really mad before, but he was so mad. So he storms outside and I went after him and asked where he was going.........He went down to the clinic and demanded to see the Captain who he basically tore into about how unprofessional this woman was and he could not believe he was expected to continue to bring his son to see her. So now they are "talking to" the doctor, reporting it to the higher ups, and switching us to a different pediatrician I'm so proud of him Oh and it was just a heat rash by the way

Way to go, Daddy! That doctor sounds like a piece of work. Reid is over 10 months old and will keep his head down if he is busy staring at something! Jeeze. lol.

By the way, I didn't know that you are just 20! You seem so much more mature, and I really do mean that!

Gosh, how ignorant of her!!! I would have been fuming too! Your husband did an awesome thing and now hopefully Conner will see a MUCH better doctor. I had no idea you were 20 either. I thought I was one of the few younger moms here LoL. I'm only going to be 22 tomorrow

Ah, military health care, gotta love it. This is exactly why I took the girls and me off Prime and put us on Standard. Now we get to see whatever civilian providers we want and it is so much less stressful, especially with everything that is currently going on with Violet. I know we would not be getting the kind of care she needs if we were still in the military system. If you want more info on cost or how to switch over, just shoot me a PM and I'd be more than happy to walk you through it.

I appreciate that. I hear a lot of opinions from people here and there about being a young wife/mom so I tend to just keep it to myself out of habit so that's nice to hear..so thanks

I've seen plenty of 30+ moms who SUCK, so who does that Doc think she is judging you like that!!???
