I had noticed none of the girls BFing too and while it didn't surprise me at all... I did find it pretty annoying the way when the audience girl questioned them on it Dr. Drew seemed pretty quick to being like "well BFing is hard... it's messy blah blah." It just felt like while he was busting the guy's balls about stuff during the one-on-ones... he completely backed the mother's for giving up or choosing not to BF b/c "it's not as easy as it looks" or whatever.

I haven't seen the reunion show but about the breastfeeding... I was SUPER annoyed when Farrah was saying on her episode that breastfeeding would ruin her breasts. No, idiot, pregnancy and unhealthy weight gain do and since you're already pregnant, you might as well nurse. I give major props and kudos to her OB who tried to lecture her about it and tell her to at least try and do it for the first two weeks. Too bad she didn't take the advice.

Sorry for the rant, I guess I'm a little sensitive on the topic at the moment. All of my relactation efforts have failed and it hurts because I to want to do this SO BAD and then I see someone else just throw it away. Stupid Farrah! haha

Ok so I don't know all their names. But on the BFing issue, I could totally see why they wouldn't breastfeed. That one girl nailed it, "Everyone said how much it would hurt so I got scared." Let's not forget that teens follow alot of peer pressure. Doesn't make it right, but I can see why they didn't BF, KWIM? And if you aren't educated enough to use protection when you DTD (to prevent pregnancy) then you probably don't know the benefits of breastmilk or what BFing TRULY does or doesn't do to your body.

Oh and Carly totally looks like her mama!

I hadn't thought about that, I guess. I suppose I just assumed these girls would educate themselves about pregnancy, birth, and taking care of their baby once they discovered they were pregnant but having typed it out I realize how unlikely and ridiculous that sounds.

I may be alone on this one but I really didn't like how Dr. Drew handled the entire thing at all. Like Maci's boyfriend (Ryan?), even though she was saying he's gotten so much better and blah blah, he just tore into him the whole time. It was like clearly the guy is sorry, he realized he screwed up and is doing what he can, why do you have to be such a jerk to him? It was like... he was trying to set him up to look like the bad guy still. I just thought that he handled the interviews very inappropriately, in general, with all the girls. I was really irked by the time the show was over.

I was going to say something similar to what Morgan said about why I think they ended up not breastfeeding. Other people always talk about it hurting and being really hard, and I think that would scare a teenager more than anything. They are thinking that they have no experience and should listen to others who have experience. I know, for me, everyone I've known in real life that has talked about breastfeeding has said similar things to what the girls said they heard, and if it weren't for JM, I most likely wouldn't have wanted to BF when I do have a baby. Also, I noticed a few said they tried and gave up because it was too hard, and I think that is because most teenagers have the mindset that if it's hard and takes sacrifice and work, it's not worth it. That's how my SIL was. She had my niece when she was 16, and she just didn't want to deal with it. It was too much of an inconveniece for her, I guess.
