oh geeze i tend to set everything on fire. maybe i should be fireproofing my marriage! lol i will check that out!

ETA - what are the challenges like? i dont really understand, maybe since i'm not christian, i dont really know what is meant by loving my spouse as christ loves me? i do love my husband... hmm i'm confused!

Basically we'll be using the book The Love Dare & just following it... what it says, we'll do (I don't have it yet so I can't really tell you the dares yet)! You can actually preview the book at Wal-Mart or another bookstore of your choice if you would like. Also, if you haven't watched the movie, Fireproof, it might be helpful in answering some of your questions... it's a GREAT movie! I love it. In the movie it looks as though you do nice things for your DH like hold your tongue when you really want to tell him off, do nice things for him (in the movie, Kirk Cameron got his wife a cup of coffee, flowers, etc). Basically, you LOVE him (DH).

BTW, I haven't actually done The Love Dare myself... this is a first for me too!

i seeeeeeeee hmmm. k i will try to find a copy of the book and check it out! its my anniversary on sunday so it might be a good thing to do going forward into my 3rd year of marriage! :-)

I'm already signed up and looking forward to it. My step-mom is a wonderful Christian and often shares with me how she works on her marriage by loving her husband as she loves God. It's a unique concept to wrap your mind around, but what an awesome thing to bring to your relationship! Our pastor who married us spoke of this during our ceremony.

Oh wow!!! Happy anniversary!!! I think it would be a great anniversary present of sorts! Today's my 5 yr anniversary!

Mike and I already own the Love Dare, and have been though it. I've learned so much about patience, and re-committing to my marriage every day. It is a wonderful journey, and I think it can be repeated every 40 days. Maybe I'll sign up and we'll do it again.
