I'm getting my first tattoo on August 17th (i'm so excited!) and I've just been thinking, I know a lot of you have tattoos, I was wondering:

What are your tattoos of?

Do they have a special meaning to them?

Would you pick the same thing again if you could do it over?

I just thought it would be fun to see what everyone has to say about their body art.

What are your tattoos of? I have one so far. It's a black & purple silhouetted butterfly. I have plans for 3 others, two of which I know what I want.

Do they have a special meaning to them? The one I have...not really, but I like it. The ones I want do.

Would you pick the same thing again if you could do it over? Yes

What are your tattoos of? My zodiac symbol Virgo & a star

Do they have a special meaning to them? Yes they do.. I've always been big into astronomy and following my horoscope! It was just a given that I would get my zodiac symbol! The star is also the whole astronomy thing but when DH and I first got together I used to call him my lucky star Yes its cheesy but it does have a special meaning to me!!

Would you pick the same thing again if you could do it over? Yes I would!!! I have no regrets!

What are your tattoos of? its the hanoverian brand they brand on purebred hanoverian horses

Do they have a special meaning to them? My first horse (my first love, before hubby) was Hanoverian/TB got it as a tribute to him

What are your tattoos of? a clover with tribal

Do they have a special meaning to them? I love my heritage

Would you pick the same thing again if you could do it over? yes I'm actually going to get another one its on my list of ones I'm getting along with a matching arm band with my mom in Elvish, and the kids names

It was taken in Jan-Feb 2006 so it wasn't quite a year old yet and I was probably around 15weeks pregnant with Seamus, it looks pretty bad now I have a stretch mark going through it. I never thought about getting pregnant that soon after it was done so it got messed up.

I don't have any tattoos but if I were to get one, it would be of a peace dove.

What are they of: A lion's paw print on my left back hip and the Latin word for "strength" on my right hip.

Special meaning: The lions paw is in reference to me beoing a Leo- strong, fearless, confident, etc. I wanted an abstract siloutette of a lions face/mane but was scared to commit to it and never found the right design. The Latin word is "Vis Vires" and loosely means "strength"- because sometimes I need it. Its a virture that I always strive to have.

Pick the same thing: Paw print? NO. I would do the lions siloutte like originally planned. No regrets on the latin word! For both of them, I wish that there was more detail and maybe even color, but I wanted to air on the safe side. I could always add to them.

but after thinking about it more and more, I think I want to get this one:

it just seems a little more elegant to me.

This tattoo will have special meaning to me for 3 reasons:
- It's my first tattoo and I've put a lot of thought into it.
- My mom's youngest brother passed away last august unexpectedly and this lyric is from a beatles song I found on his ipod and it just seems fitting.
- I'm getting it done on Aug. 17th, which will be one year exactly since we found out he had passed away. He actually died on the 15th, but the year mark for me is the 17th.

What are your tattoos of? I have my name on one arm and a tribal on the other and three stars and tribal on my back.

Do they have a special meaning to them? the one on my back does, The three stars symbolize me, Dh and Mia.

Would you pick the same thing again if you could do it over? defo my back peice and the tribal but not my name - i am getting that coverd in the near future!
