So Thursday night Drake started coughing, and it con't yesterday. Well, about 3pm yesterday afternoon, I was holding him and could hear him wheezing. I know my wheezes from simple congestion. Even without a stethoscope. The kicker is he was HAPPY as could be, despite the coughing and wheezing. And no fever. I called his ped, who told us to come on in for a sick visit.

It was with a ped I'd never met, but as it turns out my DH (who is a PA) knows her professionally. He turns out to just have a little respiratory virus, and he was responsive to a breathing treatment in the office. So we got sent home with a nebulizer machine for his tmts, and an Rx for the actual nebulizer med.

He is doing great; he acts like nothing is wrong. I'm happy he feels well, and he hasn't been audibly wheezing since. I'm trying not to be psycho nurse mom and bust out my stethoscope, and count his heart rate and respirations. I've resisted so far

Anyhow, if anyone could send little Drakey some get well vibes, they would be much appreciated. And..........

Poor baby!! Im glad that despite being sick though he is a happy baby!! How is he dealing with the nebulizer?? Im sending him some get well vibes!!

I'm so sorry he's not feeling well but glad he seems to be in good spirits. I hope he gets better soon.

Awwww, I'm sorry he's wheezing and coughing, but at least it doesn't seem to be bothering him! I hope he gets over it quickly.

I think its ok to be 'crazy nurse mom' once in a while Especially when your boy is sick. I hope the nebs help and he is back to his old self in no time.
