Do you still swaddle? DS will be 4 months next week. It really helps him at night and when he naps. When should I stop? He sleeps thru the night and I'm afraid he will wake if I don't swaddle.

I don't swaddle anymore. I stopped around 6 weeks by her choice. She didn't seem to like it after that. She wanted to be free I guess I don't know when the best age is to stop doing it. Taylor was the same as Rylie so I have no experience in that area.

I swaddled Ben until he was 7 months. At that point, he stopped sleeping as well and seemed like it was hindering his sleep more than helping. Before that age, anytime I attempted to unswaddle him, he would wake up about 10 times in the first hour and I knew he wasn't ready.

I stopped swaddling Matthew at around 2 months I think but that was because I realized he slept better on his tummy. He would also fight the swaddle and it became a big PITA for us.

I've heard of people swaddling up till 7 months or so like PP. If it helps him to sleep I don't see any reason to stop. You could try him without it one night and if he wakes a lot, just go back to it.

Cambria was swaddled till she was 9 Months! And even after that when she'd lay on her back she'd wake up. She HAS to be sleeping on her belly. Now I see her flipping sides through out the night. Now when I see her sleeping I think it's the cutest thing, guess cause I was so used to her being swaddled forever!

I stopped swaddling early on but that was because Amara never really cared for it much. Plus here is really warm so sometimes it would just keep her too hot. I would use a loose swaddle on the nights when I thought it was a bit cold but then we stopped with the blankets altogether and started using a sleepsack. She enjoyed the sleepsack at first but then I think that kept her too warm as well and we just started using footed onesies and eventually just a regular onesie.

We never swaddled. Reagan hated it, even in the hospital. As long as baby is comfy though, I don't see why you would have to stop.

I've read that once baby starts rolling over in their sleep, you should stop swaddling. Try swaddling him with one arm out and see if he wakes himself up. If he does, just tuck that little arm back in and keep swaddling him for a while more.
