I know this has probably been asked a million times but my internet isn't strong enough to search right now!

What do you give your baby for teething pain? What has worked for you? What *hasn't* worked?

Alice is starting to get really uncomfortable and I am not sure what to try for her. We don't have a LOT of extra money right now because DH is going back to school, so I don't want to waste money on something that for sure won't work, KWIM? So, suggestions ladies?

THANKS!

I tried the amber necklace and if I'm honest, I didn't notice any difference.

Kirsty was at her worst through the night, so we went through a phase of giving her infant paracetmol 30mins before bed.

I have seen on Discovery Health baby progs, they recommend chopping carrot into sticks (or any veg!) and freezing it, when frozen give to baby as a hand-held chomping stick. With is being cold it's supposed to ease the gums.

I also use teething gel.

I used to give Mia sugar free icepops and she would chomp on them.
She also used teething gel. Both worked well x

I used Boo Boo Buddies and they worked awesome. They are truly for bruises etc. but they work wonderfully for teething. I wouldn't use them when he started cutting real teeth cause I didn't want the gel getting into his mouth if for some chance he actually bit it open (but its not toxic). Just google them!!!! Make sure to get a couple cause after about 15 minutes they got to warm to do any good so we'd swap them in and out of the freezer!!!

I was mean and didn't give him anything with the first two teeth. Well.. he wasn't that bad and I didn't really know for sure he was teething until I saw them pop out. He has always had different teethers to chew on. I bought some Hyland's Teething Tablets but I'm not sure they worked. I gave him Tylenol a couple times the second time around before bedtime. I'm not sure if it helped either. I bought some Motrin because I was told by my doc and other moms that it works better than Tylenol. I have not had to give him the Motrin yet. I personaly don't like giving meds unless it's a last resort type thing. I try to stay as natural as possible. I'm not a fan of oragel either and never bought any.

I hope you can figure out something to help Alice out! You can always give her a cold wet or frozen wash cloth to chew/suck on. I heard that helps.

I haven't had to do anything yet... I think Alexa is in the beinning stages of teething... but we may have months to go still. I agree with Resi and we'll go as natural as possible. I heard about the tablets... and will try washcloth idea... I don't like the idea of giving meds... unless fever or last resort.

Good luck Lauren.

Everything that Resi said but I did try the Motrin and it did work. She had a fever the other day and that was the only thing that broke it too. Also try the mesh feeders. I put Ice in the and she would suck on it.

I have seen the mesh feeders- I may try one of those. Alice didn't really like the frozen washcloth... I think it was because she didn't like how cold it was on her hands LOL shes a picky girl.

Thanks for all the opinions!

Amara didn't really have any problems with her teeth coming in, at least not with these 2 and I hope this continues. I do give her ice chips in the Munchkin mesh feeder though. Basically she just likes to chew on anything hard and I guess that works for her.
