I know this is far from what's on most of you girls' minds...but my DH went thru with his vasectomy and is now painfully resting with a bag of peas on his nether regions. He was a trooper! I feel so bad for him though...I can tell it realllyyyy hurts. He has to do two test specimens - one in six weeks and another six weeks after that! So yeah.... no oppsie babies for us!!!

Troy and i agreed he would do this after we had 2-3 kids. So I got a couple questions for you....how long does it take for him to go back to normal day to day life (and when can you have sex again LOL). Did he get a local or knocked out for it?
hope he feels better soon!

Way to go DH!!!
My DH has agreed to do the snip snip when we are done with kids too. Apparently I am ridiculously fertile and I think that scares him a little, hehe.

Well at least you dont have to take pills, insert anything, or get an operation yourself! Hope his pain goes down soon. You should make a sling for his parts so they can stay elevated

Thanks ladies. My friends and I at work made him a really cute "Get well balls" card! He loved it.
Angela....I'm not sure how long until he'll be back to normal - he just got it done today - but I'll let you know! We're not suppose to have sex for a week I think doc said....but we're for sure using the old "love glove" until he has passed both of his six week checks....my parents have three couple friends who didn't get their checks done and they all had a third kid...woah!
Erin - how do I make this said sling????

I think it's great that your DH agreed to have this done rather than you. My husband already said he would not get it done. He is too chicken. I hope your hubby is feeling better by today.

poor dude! give him a few days and he will be back to normal.
DH said he felt normal after like...3 days...pretty much, still tender for like a week but able to DTD after that. (this was years ago and his was reversed, lol).

Update on DH and his balls:
He was up and moving around yesterday - he even went to Walmart cause he was bored although he was hurting a good bit last night because of it. He hasn't taken any of his prescription pain killers (just motrin) which I am proud of him for what with all the alcohol issues in the past. He didn't realize that he rolled over onto his side in the night and sleep most of the night that way and that made him a little sore this morning too. However, today he is watching Nora while I am at work so he's really feeling much better. Thank you girls for all of your "get well balls" well wishes!
