My friend Is letting me borrow her ERGO for our trip to Seattle in a week. Only thing is she never used it cause she didn't like it and doesn't have the Instructions for it anymore. So my question is How do I work it? Can you put the baby front facing as well? How about on the back? And whats the weight limit? Thanks!!

"ERGObaby recommends a weight limit of 40 pounds for its carrier; however, the carrier has been tested up to 90 pounds. Our carrier will accommodate you as long as you would like to carry and/or your baby would like to be carried."
im trying to google picture of front facing babies in the carrier...all Im finding are facing twards you, and you can wear it like a backpack and put the baby facing you - Im assuming you can put her in the front of you facing out, I would just keep and arm on her for safty, dont know if shed be top heavy? ergo baby carrier front facing - Google Images - google picture results of how to wear it

In the Ergo, you're only supposed to have the baby facing you. There is a way to do outward facing but it's not as comfortable or good for the baby. Pretty much, you buckle your waist strap, then you pick up the baby and hold her with her legs on each side of you. Then you put the straps on and buckle the back. You can tighten all the different straps to see what is most comfortable once she is in it.

ergo's are only meant to have baby facing you,,,not out---its the best for your back and baby's hips/lower back/groin. (hence the name ERGO as in ergonomically correct). I have the ergo sport which says it child can be worn up to 40lbs but it was tested to 90lbs.

YouTube - Ergo Baby Carrier by The Ergo Lady
This shows back and front carry. The video sound is HORRIBLE. I think she did the sound over the video? Either way it shows how to do it. Hope that helps

This is what it looks like on the front. You can wear your baby on the front as long as it's comfortable for you, I wore Aden that way after she was a year old but she wasn't that heavy either! I am still wearing Phin on the front and probably will until he's after a year too. He loves it!
