getting your tubes tied or DH getting the snip snip? I'm curious to know if either one of you will do this after you are done with having kids?

Haven't put much thought into it at this point, as we are just starting our family. I guess I don't like the permanence of it. Plus, we don't have a set number of children in mind.
I will probably get a copper IUD (no hormones) after I think we are done with babies. It's good for 10 years and if we don't change our minds in that time, I would consider a more permanent surgical option.

I was going to get my tubes tied but dh talked me out of it. Since, if I do have another they will be in there anyway since have to have another c-section(sucks but i guess at least I had one vaginal birth) I will get them tied. If in a couple years we do decide 100% that we are done then dh will get snipped

We're just going to use NFP(BOM), so no tubes being tied or anything getting snipped.

No, I don't think we will do anything that permanent. We're both okay with condoms and/or pull out. Unless we get pregnant with triplets next time, I don't ever see there being a time where it would be TERRIBLE to have another baby That being said, we only want 2, maaaaaybe 3.

I'm the same way! DH would never agree to getting snipped. I thought about getting the surgery but I don't like the thought of doing something like that to my body. I would welcome any baby to come along at any age. I think we will be good with 2... and if 3 happened I would be fine with it. At this point I feel like I'm always going to have baby fever! I have come along way from wanting 0 to 1 to 2.

uhm. at this point, we'll just stay as we are, lol, unless by some miracle things change. I'll actually have a hysterectomy when we are sure we are done due to endo, most likely.

You know my answer to this one! Getting snipped for DH was much cheaper and easier than anything that I would have had done and much cheaper and easier than condoms, pills, etc. He's already feeling much better and it was just Tues. morning he had it done. I don't trust NFP and I feel I owe it to the children I have to not have anymore kids. Kids take time and money and at this point we feel we're in a perfect balance with that and the three we have to ensure they have happy and healthy lives!

I am pretty sure Dh will get snipped once we are 100% sure we are done. It's much easier to get the guy "done". If I am pushing babies out my whooha the least he can do is get a little snippety snip.
That said one of his co-workers was talking about sex not being as good after the big V. He didn't really elaborate on why (something about the O being a letdown?) but I was like argh! He shouldn't have said anything to my Dh!
I think it will work out well this way...Dh only wants 2 whereas I think I might want 3. If birth control is up to him it might not happen in a timely fashion after our 2nd child and we might end up with a 3rd because of it.

My thinking may totally change 10+ yrs from now. But I will not get my tubes tied. The talk of a VS has never come up with DH. Other than his dad got one and it didn't work. Along came baby number 6.

We haven't talked about this yet since we're just starting out, but if either of us got something done it would be him. There's no way I'd put myself through a surgery like that... If he doesn't want to get a V then I would never force him, we'd just find another form of birth control (that doesn't involve me being on hormones).

As of now, I'd like to just use the pnp or the calendar method.

Depends on if my periods get painful again.... if they do (so far my PP period has been a breeze! No pain!) once we are done I will most likely get a complete hysterectomy. All the women on my moms side (except my mom) had to have one because of issues of some sort. If everything is ok -- well then nothing has to get done since DH has barely any sperm.

Unless your already having a c-section they're already in there so its easier to do a woman then. If I were to have the chance of a vbac then dh would be getting snipped but since I dont(unless we move or dh's work insurance somehow gets super cheap then I have to have a c-section)

Dh is willing to get snipped when we're done. However, our philosophy has changed a bit since we miscarried, and we might not do anything permanent.

Lee will be getting the big "V" - but not until we are at a smaller base so he can get a referral to a civilian.
