If you are like me and have been TTC for a long time, you might want to watch Dr. Phil today!

The title was "Conception Crazed". That should pretty much explain it. I felt much more sane about TTC after watching it, but there have been moments! Watch if you can, I'd like to discuss!

I watched it. It made me very sad and emotional. Eventhough I havent expirenced what they have, I can empathize. I know how much my baby and pregnancy means to me and I am so thankful everyday for what I have. The story of the first women especially broke my heart. Her pain was so evident.

Before getting pregnant, we briefly touched on what would we do if we couldnt have children. My DH has said he would be fine not having children. I know I wouldnt be. I think he wouldnt want to invest all that money, medicine, and emotions into IVF either if thats what things came to.

For us now, if this is our only baby I think I could accept that. Eventhough we both want 2 children, I think at least at this point, I would be content with 1 if thats what God has given us.

I feel like the 2nd wife. I always wanted 3 or 4 kids, but since 1 has been so hard to happen, I would "settle" for one beautiful blessing! I'm going to have Mike watch it when he comes home to see if he agrees with the DH's grievances.

I think it would be VERY VERY HARD for me to accept having no children, but we've definitely discussed it. We're very blessed to be so close with my niece and nephews and we would be OK if it were to not happen.

I'm not normally a Dr. Phil fan, but I did catch the part where he was talking about how he and his wife compromise. I really liked that and might bring it up to DH who isn't always willing to do things I want to do, but I'm always willing to suck it up and do something he wants to do.

The show itself broke my heart. I felt so bad for those women...I guess its harder for men to understand how some women can't feel complete until their family is complete. I think that comes with women being the ones carrying the baby and the whole pregnancy process. Men are just kind of indifferent to that.

I was just coming on here to post about this. I'm watching it right now. I feel like the first wife (so far). I've just always wanted to be a mom, that's what I feel like my reason in life is. I'm glad I got a chance to see this one I don't normally watch Dr. Phil.

Mike and I just watched together, and I told him sometimes I feel like Dr. Phil's comments to Wife #3-- Maybe you have what you have as God sees you to need it. Mike said if a couple as in love as we are, who want to share their love and raise a socially responsible adult aren't SUPPOSED to have a baby, then he couldn't believe in God.

Since he does believe in God, he can't believe that we aren't SUPPOSED to have a baby. He's such a good listener

I missed the show, but am glad that a respected figure with a show has talked about fertility problems in a national spotlight. There is so much emphasis on prevention in this culture, that when a couple can't conceive it seems there isn't any sympathy for them--except here of course

DH and I haven't actually talked about if we can't conceive! I guess we'd just be parents to pets, then. I hope it doesn't come to that.
