Just came back from my routine OB appt. Had my first NST that showed I was having regular contractions. I have been feeling them increasingly over the past week, but always thought they were just Braxton-Hicks as they are not painful. My cervix is closed, but the baby's head is very far down and my cervix is much shorter than it should be- meaning the contractions are being effective. She is sending me to the hospital for 2-3 days to hopefully stop them. Or get steroid injections if they cannot. Just home to eat dinner and pack my bags (haha, I knew I should have done it before!).
Good news. Baby boy is good. Weighs 3lbs 15oz. And I passed the 1 hr OGT. Will update as soon as I can... have no idea if this hospital has wireless or not.

Oh, I'm sorry you have to go through this! It really isn't any fun (been there, done that). I hope they get 'em stopped so you can go home soon! Be happy they're letting you go home to pack and what-not before checking you in. I had to stay and had absolutely nothing with me, which was a huge pita.

Hospital has wireless!
Immediately last night I got an u/s with the on-call doctor. Baby looked great, but I knew that from just seeing him 3 hrs prior. The transvag showed my cervix is only 1 cm length with his head right there, when my OB had measured 2.3 cm a couple hours earlier (3-4cm is normal). A little rant- I have u/s experience and the two docs measured from different landmarks! Nothing changed in those few hours. I have been having these painless BH-like contractions for WEEKS... it just happened that yesterday I had my reg OB appt with my first NST.
Anyway, they completely freaked out. I have been put on a full dose of IV terbutaline infusion, oral and IV magnesium, had the IV bolus of steroids to mature his lungs, IM heparin injections and COMPLETE bedrest... cant even get up to use the toilet or sit upright. AND I have a roomate... yep, very nice getting to use a bedpan in front of a stranger. TMI, I pray to god I dont have to take a dump before she leaves, lol!!!
Today, waiting on another cervical u/s. Best case senario is that it regrows itself and the terbutaline can be turned down a bit and hopefully switched to oral. I don't know when I can expect to go home, but no time soon. NST showed no more contractions and baby boy is loving the terbutaline... I think there is more space in the newly flabby uterus to mess around in!
Please pray my cervix looks better today. I want to do whatever is best for the baby, but I also want to go home even if on bedrest. I honestly don't think he is going to make an appearance anytime soon. My bet is that he will go to 42 weeks, haha!
