My computer crapped out it seems like forever ago but its really only been a few weeks. It's finally up and running again so yay I can get back on here!!!

I had my first appointment last Wednesday. I was extremely nervous but it went well. I spent about an hour and a half with my midwife going over everything, chatting, and the usual first appointment stuff--blood draw, pap test, etc. She said I'll probably have a hard time gaining this time around too so she said she just wants to see me gain anywhere from 15-35lbs. I fell just short of 15lbs last time but I hope to make it this time, it would be one less thing to worry about. I've already lost 6lbs so I actually need to gain at least 21lbs at this point which would be almost a pound a day from now until 40 weeks. I don't see it happening. I was hoping to hear the heart beat but at 11 1/2 weeks I knew we might not. Turns out we did!!! It was a very nice 170 bpm!!! And I felt the baby for the first time a few days before my appointment. I'm not feeling consistent movement yet, obviously, but usually once a day I feel something. She said my uterus was hard and I was measuring big so she wanted me to have an u/s to confirm dates. I had the u/s today and I went in scared to death thinking there wouldn't be a heartbeat but there was! I feel like I can breathe a little bit easier now. The baby looks great, measuring about 4 days ahead and doing great. Baby was sleeping when we started but soon got woken up with all the poking and prodding of the u/s wand. Baby gave a big yawn, stretched and then started moving around for us. There is a big difference between this baby and the boys. Every u/s I had with the boys they were moving like crazy, you'd think there was a trampoline in there or something. This baby seems much more mellow--thank God!

I'm still battling "morning" sickness but I'm hoping it'll start subsiding soon. Heartburn is still a big issue, has been since I was about 5 weeks. And I can't stop breaking out, I look horrible! All for an excellent cause though and I wouldn't trade any minute of it!

My Mom decided she can't wait until our 20 week u/s to find out the sex of the baby so she's paying for a private one for us at 16 weeks!!! I'm so excited!!! We will find out what we're having in a little over 3 weeks!!!
