Ok so some of you may remember from back in my WTTC days I said I wanted to try doing some EC (eliminatin communication)....well we have been doing naked baby time so I can learn his cues of when he needs to go, I have been paying attention to his key bathroom times, I have been using my "go cues" (psss psss sound for peeing and grunt for pooping). Well today I decided to give it a try on actually catching the pee/poop. So when London woke up this morning and made his cue I held him over the toilet and made the psss psss sound......AND HE WENT!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited now! LOL
Hey thats at least ONE less diaper for today
***********UPDATE*************
So I got asked for a video, here you go..... YouTube - Elimination Communication (EC) Video

A super big congrats! I can't wait to hear more about London's progress.
<<My EC story>>
When I first brought Putney (my parrot) home, I was living with my parents. I set up his cage in the living room but I really spent a good chunk of my free time at home in my room (where my computer was set up). So Putney would often be in my room. Parrots go to the bathroom about every 15 minutes or so. He would often hang out on my shoulder and instead of ruining all my shirts, I trained him to "go potty" over a basket lined with newspaper that I had next to me on the floor. It wasn't long before I knew his cues and even better I had a lot less bird stained shirts. The basket had a tall handle that he would perch on until he went and then he got to come back up to visit with me.
Fast forward 4 years to when I was then living on my own and DH moved in with me. He was still learning about living with a parrot and what Putney's cues were. Dh was goofing off and Putney was on the top of DH's head and I could tell Putney was about ready to go so I warned DH that "you better put him on his cage or over the basket because he's about to go potty." No sooner did I say the words, did Putney decorate poor DH's head. I don't think I'll even live that one down. Maybe I should have picked a better 'go cue'. Oops.

WTG London! It's seems like it would be hard to catch a baby in time for the toliet. Peeing would be really hard (at least to me).
Oliver pees on the bathroom floor all the time when I'm getting our bath ready. One time he pooped in the toliet because I took off his diaper right when he was going.

thats so cool ang!! this concept always intrigued me since i always wondered what people did where diapers and running water were scarce like for washing poopy diapers.
chile's 'go cues' are 'go pee pee' and for #2 i just say 'focus!' LOL
what sorts of things does London do that clue you in to him needing to go?

Haha that is so cool! WTG London!
Resi, Reid does the same thing! When he is nudie and I catch him peeing, I let him finish and then set him on the toilet. Its my little sliver of an attempt at EC

That's awesome!! He is going to be potty learned SO quickly I bet! That's awesome.
Ya Curtis used to always pee during bath time haha but that was how we started potty learning. I would get him to sit on there or atleast "catch" the pee while he's going and when he saw it in the potty it kinda just clicked.

I always wondered if that really worked! Cool!
I hope Nora trains as well as Harrison - he was really good at getting it!

That's awesome!
My Lochy is almost out of diapers which will be a nice break until this baby comes and I'm up to my ears in them again. LOL When he has to go he tells me "I have to go potty, pwease!" and clasps his hands together under his chin as he says his pwease. LOL

Naked baby time is just play time without clothes! LOL When he sleeps he has a diaper on and when we are out he has a diaper on....when we lay on the mat to play (or really any play time) we just do it naked with some prefolds under him. Then when I saw him peeing I would make the psss pssss sound so he would learn the two went together. Now for some reason he naturally never pooped during naked time.

Ok this is going to sound funny....but you know when a toddler has to go they kind of do the pee-pee dance? Well imagine laying flat and doing the pee-pee dance (his legs kick one then the other for pee!) For his poo cue he gets both legs up in a squat position (like a toddler would squat). So really they are the same cues. Now when he is pooping his face gets all serious looking turns a little red and he grunts. When he is peeing he just suddenly stops moving and stares (like it scares him almost).
