I finally got them a new pediatrician so we didn't have to travel almost an hour and a half to the old one. We were kind of limited in our choices since I wanted the office to be very close. This one is only a few minutes from our house!

Of course they had to melt down as soon as they got back into the exam room. I think they were anticipating it would hurt and Lochy was just upset I was taking his clothes off. He was fighting me taking off his shirt crying "NO, I'm handsome!"

The nurses were great and so was the doctor. I am so relieved because it's always a crap shoot and I really wanted a new pedi in place before the baby is born. I wasn't planning on sharing that Lochy still nurses but the milk question came up. So I had to say no he doesn't drink milk but he still nurses. She thought that was great! She offered the flu shot and immunizations they aren't up to date on (we're delaying) and when we declined she said, "no problem." The last pedi, although he was great, really pushed shots on the regular schedule so I was always on the defensive there.

They're both small, like I didn't already know that. Liam weighs 30lbs and Lochy weighs 23lbs. Proportionately they're the same at 23% for height and 3% for weight. She is not at all concerned and said thats just how they are. She does want me to make sure they eat about every 2 hours, she said feed them whatever they want because she just doesn't want to see their weight dip below the chart. So we're going to stock up on granola bars, yogurt, veggie chips, etc. so they have lots of healthy options.

I can't tell you how relieved I am that she is so nice, calmed the boys down, made the exam short and sweet since they were upset, completely supported our parenting choices, and is so easy going and not at all an alarmist (we had one of those before too ). I am completely comfortable taking the new baby to see her and I couldn't be happier we found her!

Woo hoo! That is so great. I'm happy you found a new pedi to take the boys and new baby too.

I know that Oliver is going to be just like your boys with weight. He is about 19 lbs. What size clothes is Lochy in right now? How much did he weigh at 12 months? Oh.. that picture you have of him nursing and looking at the camera.. how old was he in it? It's the cutest picture and I think he was around 1 year old in it?

That's GREAT! We just switched pedis about 2 months ago and I LOVE this office. It's a great feeling when you feel comfortable and confident with who your LOs are seeing

Lochy weighed about 18lbs at 12 months. He still wears 18 month clothes but I've been putting him in some 24 month ones and 2T if the pants have adjustable waists. We can't live without adjustable waist pants here! I just have to roll the pants up and roll the sleeves on his shirts up too (the 24 month and 2T ones). Elastic waist pants are hard for the boys because they're too big around the waist, I have to take them in at the sides, usually at least an inch. He was about a year and a half in that nursing picture.

It's so funny because before I had Liam everyone told me not to waste my money on newborn size clothes, that he'd grow out of them within a week! Well, he wore them for 2 months! I should have listened to my gut and gotten some so I didn't have to run out when he was a week and a half in the freezing cold to get some clothes for the poor kid! Even Lochy wore them for a month. So I'm stocking up again for this baby, I know I'll need them!

It is so nice to have a pedi on my side for once. Their old one, even though he was pro breastfeeding told me I could do it until he was 2. I thought, screw you, I'll do it as long as we want! I'm so glad we finally found one who does her job well!

I'm so glad you found a pedi that you love! It's great to have someone on your side instead of always feeling like you're being attacked.

Wow, what a great doc! Sounds like you lucked out! And the "I'm handsome" tantrum is about the cutest thing I've ever heard.
