Poor DH. He got a text message from my step mom today saying something to the effect of "I can't stand it anymore. Are you guys coming over for my birthday and is my present that I'm going to be a grandma??" What does she have ESP or something??? She is right, but of course we denied it because we have, or had, a big surprise planned.
The plan was to tell the family through her b-day present... a cute book called "Funny, You Don't Look Like a Grandma". But she's on to us! So, we need a decoy. I was thinking of flowers, or maybe another gift (or both) we can give to her to make her thing we aren't pregnant after all. Any ideas???

I was going to say gift card to one of her favorite stores. That'll throw her off!

The gift card or flowers sounds like a good plan.

Oh no that sucks Krista!! But yea, I agree get her a gift card or flowers or something and I think you should wait AWHILE then say that "oh yea, we have one more thing for you". I think you should wait until right before you leave, so that the thought of you being pregnant is totally out of her mind because you didnt tell her, and she'll start to think hmm i was wrong!! Cant wait to hear how it goes!

So fun!! I love the idea of a decoy gift and then waiting until the very end to say, "Oh! We have one more gift for you"
I can't wait to hear how it goes!

DH thinks I'm being evil. That's what she gets for having ESP!
Resi - yeah, we are still giving her the book. It is all nice and wrapped up and pretty. I can't wait to see how she and everyone else reacts when she opens it!
