Hey girlies, long time no "see," eh? Sorry for the MIA-ness, but life has been seriously kicking my butt lately. I've been trying to lurk online at work even though I am totally not supposed to (but that is where I am now). Even with my "break" (maternity leave), I still never really had time to do most of the things I should have, and I am still really delinquent in a lot of stuff (e.g. I haven't done any of the planning or even looking into places, etc. for Josh's 1st bday....it is a huge deal here so the fact that I have less than 5 months to plan is not a good thing at all, still haven't found a new optometrist, etc.)
Anyway, I was having a lot of stress at home, but things have been a lot better the last couple of months. Brant had to go to Sacramento in July and was super busy during the 6 week summer break with that and taking 3 classes. I've been back at work since July. I will have some extra time off soon but not for any good reasons...I would rather work and get paid but we have mandatory furlough days here b'c the state's budget is so bloody in the hole. Brant's a teacher too, so we are losing income for both of us.
Joshua is gigantic. He is like 28.5 inches or something at his last check up & 18 lbs. but that was a month ago so who knows now. I started him on solids during the Labor Day weekend. He has 5 teeth and I can't wait till the 6th one emerges...it's the 2nd big tooth so he is so gonna look like a Jack-o-lantern for Halloween, LOL. I am still nursing, but I am mainly pumping just because his latch is so awful when he has pain from teething...I cannot handle it. (If it were just a matter of pain, I could probably do a couple more feedings than what I am currently doing, but unfortunately it isn't.) He sleeps through the night more or less, but naps can be another story.
Abby is doing well. She just had her 4 YO well child visit and is under 32 lbs. and 40 inches tall. She's been taking swimming lessons since the end of August. Her allergies are still bad, and she was getting a lot of sinus infections, so she has been on daytime and nighttime meds the past month or so. It's made a huge difference, although she still has difficulty sleeping some nights from the congestion so we are going to be trying something else. She is in preschool again this year, and I daresay she will be able to do a bit of reading and writing before kindergarten. I just found out from the ped. that she is perfectly normal in development and that she just takes a while to warm up to things and should not be pushed because it causes her to regress. (I actually knew this but certain people I know around here gave me a really bad time about her and caused some regression....okay enough about that!)
I wish I had more "free time." By the time I am done with everything I need to do at night, it is almost never earlier than 10:30 and usually more like between 11 and midnight. That wouldn't be so bad except I am supposed to get up at 4:15 so I can't really stay up much longer or get up much earlier.
Thanks for thinking of me, girls...I just don't have the time to do what I want...I haven't even been to the teacher board in probably 6 months so please don't take it personally when I'm MIA 'cause it happens much too often.

It's so great for you to come and update us. I was thinking of you and wondering how you and the children were since I remember how hectic things were for you. I hope they start to settle down sometime soon. I'm happy to hear that Josh and Abby are doing well apart from her congestion issues. Good luck with planning Josh's party!
