Just wondering! We are thinking of a ski trip this winter and hopefully a baby will be on the way by early next year.

It doesn't sound safe to me. What kind of sking will it be? If it's cross country no problem but if it's those huge slopes I don't think it's safe.

yeah i'm worried for sure, but i was thinking of sticking to the easier slopes. i can ski black diamonds in like colorado, so i figured if i stuck to the blues i might be ok. hm i really dont know. i'm not really worried about falling, more about someone running into me. argh! maybe its stupid to be worrying about this now, but we were just thinking about the trip... maybe we could go to some place that has both downhill and crosscountry skiing, cuz xcountry would be no prob as far as safety goes. it would be really boring to go on a ski trip and not ski, i know because last year i was SO SICK almost our entire ski trip, it was a bummer. i guess i will be talking it over with my dh a lot more before we schedule it.

I wouldn't do it because pregnancy messes with your balance big time.

If you are really confident in your skills then that's one thing, but then again like you said, you don't know about the people around you. You could get run over by another person. I don't know that it is as big of a deal if you are in your first trimester, though. Worth asking a doctor about I think. However, if you are in your first trimester when you go, you might not feel up to it.

Hmm..you'll probably be pretty tired and quesy if in the first tri. If you get preggo this cycle though, you could be in your 2nd tri already...but then you will start to get a belly and id be more concerned with falling/getting hit. But then again, you cant plan your life on when you possibly might be pregnant.

I would plan the trip and if you end up pregnant, you can decide what to do then!

I water skied the first trimester. Second I didn't because my balance was weird --same with third.
I'm a good snow skier so I would the first trimester (if I felt up for it, which I would have but you never know). I might have second also since I didn't really show yet but the middle of my 2nd is when I got balance issues. I would probably stick to blue/green slopes and avoid black and all moguls and jumps. Yes someone could hit you but...I've skied thousands of times and never been hit. (unless I was teaching someone and holding on to them). So to me you "could be" doesn't work LOL You could be hit by a car (the stats are more likely on this one!)

true! yeah i never have been hit by anyone, i think if i am in my first trimester and not showing i will probably go, i'm a good skier and i'll just stick to the blues which will be decent skiers around me but yet pretty easy skiing. i really hope i'm not sick in the first trimester, i know i hear about how bad people feel but i really have no concept of how i will feel! i like taking lots of hot chocolate breaks so i think it will be ok fingers crossed.

and i didnt know u were a ski bunny ang!
