I hope im not boring you guys with my doctor updates, its just exciting to finally have something happening. My regular dr called and said she wants to refer me to an RE in St. Louis. She was so sweet, she said she personally called him and talked to him, and they said "absolutely" they would take me and help me. I am so confused though, she has referred me to an RE, is that the correct next step? I thought RE's are mainly for IVF, IUI, clomid...etc. I dont have that problem (getting pregnant) I have the staying pregnant problem. But I guess its still a "fertility problem" i just thought there would be some sort of other dr for that problem. (I didnt ask my dr when she called because im at work and missed the call and just listened to her voicemail) She said he is an amazing doctor, and he and everyone in their office are so sweet. I looked him up online, and cant find anything but wonderful things about him, he was also voted one of St. Louis' best doctors for the past 4 years. My next step is just to call and make the appointment. Im assuming he is a busy guy and I wont get in for awhile but thats okay, its worth it! I cant believe I will be seeing an RE Thats scary. I have to admit you hear all of these women who get told they have to go see an RE and you really deeply feel sorry for them, but when its you...man it really hits you. It is crazy that you can be so young, feel so healthy...and still go through this. I have a new respect for all you woman who have gone through fertility problems, im not putting myself in your same category at all or anything like that because I know my situation is different but its all I know and its really hard for me.
Thanks for listening to my rambling about this stuff again. Im very excited to move a step closer to our baby.

I hope you're able to get in sooner rather than later and that you get some concrete answers! You are that much closer to your baby and I'm so excited for you Ashley! I'm sure it's scary and not exactly how you wanted to go about conceiving your child but in the end you'll have a gorgeous baby!

I can only imagine, but I am glad your DR was able to set something up so quickly. Remember, ask them if they have a WAIT list or something, that way if there is a cancellation they can call you. I agree, this is just another step closer to getting your baby!

Yup even for problems staying pregnant, you go to an RE. They may want to run some different blood tests to see if they can pinpoint the problem. An RE is going to know MUCH more than an OB, I bet a lot of OBs wouldn't necessarily know what tests to order and so forth. So it's definitely a great step to see an RE!
I know it is scary, I was so worried when I took that step. I was wondering if I was going to be "that woman" who just couldn't get pregnant or had to do multiple rounds of IVF, or take years and years to have a baby. I don't know that's just what sprang to my mind when I thought about seeing an RE.
But it turned out to be an awesome step for us and I bet it will be for you too!

Wow, it sounds like you are seeing some great doctors! It can be so hard to find a really good doc, you know? Half the time I don't even know where to start looking for one. You will be in good hands. I hope it is a quick process for you!

Many women just need something as simple as progesterone suppositories to stay pregnant. Think of it this way: At least you'll get more ultrasounds, more check ups, more peace of mind, on your next pregnancy. And the result will be a happy and healthy LO! Good luck and I hope you get an appointment quickly!
