My doctor called me last night. She reviewed my day 7 ultrasound, and it seems that I have polycystic ovaries. I do not have PCOS, as I do not fit the syndrome, and my doctor says it is mild. I do ovulate on my own, but i make so many follicles that a dominant one isn't chosen till late in the cycle. My doctor thinks that when i do ovulate, the eggs are not quite mature, which would cause my low luteal phase progesterone (my last draw was only 5.4).
Becaues i have a mild case, she is encouaging me to continue to try naturally. She did say however that I may need clomid. Hubby and I are undecided at the moment. We have a cruise planned in january, and might hold off till after that.
I'm just glad to finally know what's going on.

well thats great to finally have answers, what a relief.
i think that trying clomid after the cruise would be a great idea! no need to rush into it, and that gives you some more time to get used to the idea.

Hmm, well I had polycystic ovaries on one scan, but not on the other. I ovulated every month at a decent time (CD 16-18 usually) but still wasn't getting pregnant after my m/c. My hormones and stuff were normal so they didn't classify it has PCOS.
I had an HSG, took Clomid, did acupucnture and WHAM! There was Matthew.
So I'm all about the Clomid. If you want to wait till after your cruise, it's really not that far off. And who knows you might get lucky on your own before then.

Glad to hear you got some answers. Do what your heart tells you to do. Would it be a bad thing to be pregnant on your cruise or are you worried about feeling crappy with morning sickness?

I didn't realize last night that you might hold off, but had you have asked, I would have said wait. Natural may not work, but and you may need the Clomid, but don't chance the Clomid hormones while on vacay!

I'm glad you got some answers and that things are not too too bad. I'd say to NTNP all the while and then if nothing happens by January, then you could give the clomid a try. Good luck with your decision.

Yay answers!!! If you are anything like me, I would be thrilled to have an action plan, you know? Whether it is to wait until January or not.

I'm so glad that you got answers as well. I dont know too much about clomid, just the basics "Its suppose to aid in increasing fertility". But according to some of the ladies, it might be best to jump on it after your cruise. But then again, only you and your doc know whats best for you.

Matt and I have talked it over, and decided we've waited a long time, and don't relish the idea of waiting any longer. For now, we're gonna see how this cycle goes, and if it's a bust, give my doc a call.
