Today I am officially 36 weeks. I discontinued the labor-stopping meds and am off of bedrest today (although I am still on "limited activity" and have not gotten the ok to return to work). I made it to my doctor's cutoff for going into labor... now even if it started tonight, they wouldn't stop it, they would just deliver my baby! I got some shots that mature his lungs so if he comes out at 36 weeks, he should breathe like a full term baby and have little to no complications. I'm not having any feelings of labor, pain, "dropping" or contractions (beyond the ones I've been having which are probably Braxton-Hicks at this point).
My PUPPP rash actually went away! The doctor is stumped. I guess that never happens. It started to get better after I started to take this antihistamine Atarax for the itching, and within a week it had receded from my arms, legs and finally from my belly. I chalk it up to my tendency to be a medical curiosity. Anything that makes people say "Oh you have a 1% or less chance of that happening" seems to happen to me.
Also while I was on bedrest, our baby shower took place in Michigan. When planning this thing months ago, we did not think that 33 weeks pregnant would be too late to travel a couple of hours in a car! Since it was such short notice and we had a lot of guests coming, my mom and MIL decided not to cancel it. We set up a webcam on both ends and video-conferenced ourselves in. They hooked up the laptop on their end to a big screen TV at the restaurant so everyone could see and hear us well. I was worried that it would be really awkward to do it this way, but actually the guests seemed to be really into it. We had each person come up in front of the camera and open their own gift so we could see, greet and thank everyone for their gift individually. It worked out pretty well that way.
I have some professional maternity photos on the way. They were taken at 30 weeks (outdoor session) and 32 weeks (indoor studio session). It's taken so long because the photographer had to photoshop all of them and then bring proofs over, then we had to order our prints. I'm also getting a CD of non-print-quality watermarked proofs that I can share online, so I'll be putting those up when I get them back.
I do have a 36-week belly pic up in the belly section. I'm huge, and what you can't see from the side angle are the spider webs of red stretch marks ALLLLL over the front of my belly! I'm beyond caring about that at this point... but in the back of my mind, I do hope I'll be able to fade them somehow.
So we are still stalled on our short-sale townhome, as the bank that holds the defaulted loan is NOT interested in completing this transaction any time this decade. Soooo... while I was on bedrest, my mom and sister came in from Michigan to bring us our baby shower gifts. DH and my mom and sister teamed up to empty out our computer "room" (which is really a small area of our living room that's walled off but has no window and no closet). They turned it into a makeshift nursery. It's not exactly as I originally pictured, but it's a space that's just for the baby and that satisfies my nesting instinct for the moment at least.
Nursery pics:
And since he has no closet and no room for a dresser, here are all of his little clothes:

You made it Kyle!!! 36 weeks!!! I'm glad the PUPPP is gone, and that you were still able to "attend" your shower. Hope the transaction on the townhome goes through soon. Can't wait to meet your son, after all this time and effort!

It's great how everything came together with the baby shower and nursery. I'm glad everything went well with you being on bedrest. Thank goodness that itchy rash went away too. Now it's just waiting on that sweet baby boy to arrive. I'm guessing you are holding off on naming him until you see him or maybe you are keeping it a secret until he is born? I'm excited that he will be here shortly and we all can all see what he looks like.

Kyle it is so good to hear that you made it to 36 weeks....Nora was born at 36 weeks and 4 days (I think it was 4 days) and she was perfect except for her jaundice which even a late baby can have. So yippee!!!! The nursery is super cute! *off to check out your belly pics*!!!
