Hey at least you are learning! I have never made chicken stock. The mistakes you make are funny but kudos to you for becoming domesticated!

noooooooooooo. please tell me you didnt skim the fat off yet! i hate making stock cuz i get all anal about skimming off as much fat as possible and i end up standing there with a spoon for like 30 min. stock should be worth its price in gold for how much effort it takes to make! i hope you saved some of your stock sweetie!

I bet that made you mad. It's funny though. I would just buy the broth. I enjoy cooking and I have never made my own chicken broth. I always buy the organic stuff in the container. Much faster and easier.

I'm glad you are doing this first. I've told Mike and my fam/friends 25 will be the age I really learn to cook. Wait 3 weeks-- I'm sure I will be the Grads SCREW UP extreme!

I only dumped half out before I realized what I was doing! So I do have some left.
I made it because I want to learn to make homemade Chicken noodle soup. So next week that should be interesting...because I'm learning to MAKE the NOODLES!!!!
I have a bread making mommy class in a few weeks as well. And I wasn't mad I did it...I was laughing at myself to hard to be mad.

I wish I could use mommy brain....but really its bad genes LOL My mom has stories of cooking that you may pee your pants hearing! Her adventures were so bad that when I moved out of SD to CO and bought a house....I gave the insurance company my name and they asked if there was any relation! Like my mom was on a top 10 list or something! HAHHAHAHA. I know I was home for at least 6 MAJOR kitchen fires (that the kitchen got redone!) and to many to count little ones. she still to this day puts metal in the microwave. *rolls eyes*.

I started making my own after looking at the ingredients on my organic premade broth: pear juice! not stock! Gross! Way easy to make own and the flavor is fantastic!

And Sarah: about skimming it: put the strained broth in the fridge overnight. Then skim the fat off after its congealed. Takes 2 mins

Making your own noodles, I am impressed! Sounds like if you are gonna learn to cook, then you are gonna learn to COOK!
