It went well. Just heard the baby's heartbeat and it was beating strong. Both the OB and the NP asked if I was feeling baby movement, I nodded my head like HECK YEAH! Sometimes this baby is training for a marathon or something. I can only feel it from the inside tho. BTW I havent gained any weight. The nurse was a little worried at first but then said "I guess thats okay for now". So idk. My appetite hasnt increased tremendously so we shall see.

I scheduled my level 2 ultrasound, in which the gender will be seen as well, for Dec 8th. But I already have my 3d/4d scheduled for Nov 16th so I'll know before then. They tested me for AFP I'll know my results in about a week, but I honestly dont see any problems.

My doc asked me if I was getting the H1N1 shot today and I declined. She (this was my 1st time with this O looked at me concerned and asked why. I told her b/c it hasnt been tested on pregnant women and I have more of a chance of catching the regular flu than the H1N1 and the effects of both are the same b/c they're both the flu, so I'll get the regular flu shot when I get a chance. She went to tell me how much its recommended, I told her that that was nice to know BUT it still hasnt been tested and I know all about the swine flu outbreak of 1976, so I'll just take my chances. She finally said ok and was then at least happy that Im considering the regular flu shot.

I just wish she wouldve said ok and left it alone.

But overall it was a regular appt.

Good to hear about a reassuring appointment. I'm glad that you aren't having any concerns about your pregnancy and that you can feel lots of movement - a great sign! As for the H1N1 shot - I'm not getting it either while pregnant, but I will after I give birth (as a caretaker of an infant under 6 months old). It is scary to be pregnant and have to make decisions like that. I went back and forth on it for weeks before making my decision. Immunizations of all kinds make so much sense on a public health level, but when you have to consider it personally, it can feel like a different issue.

I'm glad it went well! Not too much longer til the gender scan!

I'm not even pregnant yet and I'm trying to figure out where I stand on the H1N1 vaccine...

I'm glad the appointment went well. I would be concerned about taking the H1N1 vaccine too if I was pregnant and it wasn't tested. I would probably make a similar decision like Kyle...have it after the baby's born.

glad the appt went well. i'm with you on this whole H1N1 thing. i think its good for certain people - elderly, immunosupressed etc - but i don't really see any reason for me to get it. i certainly agree that its probably one to avoid if it hasnt been tested on pregnant women....

I'm glad it went well! I'm actually surprised your OB didn't give you a harder time about the H1N1 vaccine. I'm still totally on the fence about it, but my OB made her position clear... we'll see. What happened in 1976??

1976 swine flu outbreak It didnt particular apply to pregnant women but there were some effects on the baby from pregnant women getting the vaccination.
