Thanks for asking!
Things are going pretty well here, minus a few snags. I LOVE being a mommy and my little Xander is amazing! Unfortunately he has a minor case of thrush at the moment because he takes forever to nurse (usually about an hour a session, then wants to eat 1-2 hours later) and he's keeping milk in his mouth, so it's a good growing environment for the yeast. Therefore he's been a little fussy lately, which up until a few days ago he rarely was. I also have suuuuuuuuper sore and sensitive nipples (yes, his latch is fine - this is from the thrush, not latch/positioning). So we're both on antifungal meds for that, but it's been 4 days now and we're still not improving. Hopefully we will soon! If not I'm not sure if we'll have to try another type of antifungal med or what. All I know is that I now understand why so many people use formula. Nursing is absolutely exhausting for me! As I said, he nurses for an hour at a time as he takes a lot of little breaks in between and/or falls asleep, then he wants to eat again 1-2 hours later. Luckily at night he'll go 3-4 hours at a time, it's as though he understands that it's sleepy time and I can't thank him enough for that! lol. I don't plan on quitting, I just really truly understand how difficult this is. I know once we're past the thrush that it'll be smooth sailing again, though. Just a temporary blip.
Anyway, Xander is doing great! He can already lift his head and hold it for a little while and turn it. He's SO strong all over and extremely active. We have to swaddle him in a sleep sack at night or else he wakes himself up by moving too much. We can't swaddle him with a blanket at all, never have been able to, he just moves around too much. He's been able to locate Jeremy and I for awhile now and focus on our faces too. He also likes to swipe at my hair and try to grab a handful. Oh, and he smiled at us for real a few days ago.

I'm confident that it wasn't just gas.
He's a little guy, but he appears to be gaining just fine... He was born at 6 lb 14 oz, was discharged at 6 lb 10 oz, was 5 lb 12 oz at a week pp (my milk didn't come in til late on the 4th day, so he lost a little extra but the dr was fine with it), was 6 lb 3 oz at 2 weeks pp and 7 lbs even on Nov 4 when he went in for this appt for thrush. I've also been assured that he looks healthy and is doing great. Lots of wet and dirty diapers too.
Sorry I haven't been responding to many posts around here. It's hard to get on the computer when all you seem to do is nurse! Heck, he's on my lap on the boppy right now attached to the boob!

Not a great position to nurse in, but I couldn't stand sitting in my glider or on the couch for another second.
