So I took payne for a walk today in his stroller (chile came too!), and his face looked like SO pale after a bit. Also his eyes kinda looked like he had bags under them. i'm not sure if it was just the lighting or what. he was warm, in a onesie, a sweater, mitts, hat and a blanket folded over twice. i touched his face and it was warm, but he looked so pale it was freaking me out! it was pretty cold out today i guess, the coldest it's been since he was born but i think it was still like 5 degrees celsius, which isnt really all that cold. Is that normal? or what would cause him to look so pasty??

usually if hes out in the cold, his face will get rosey. Has your SIL called the pedi to ask?

I think he is alright. Although its never happened to Landen I read in "what to expect while expecting" not to be alarmed if the baby gets pale or even blue in places at times (as long as it doesn't last long, because they are always pretty much in the same position the blood rushes to diff areas or something.

I have no idea, but I don't think it is normal to have a warm but pale face (compared to normal). Although Jack was pale-ish at the hospital. Your sis could take him in just in case - you really can't be too cautious when it comes to a newborn. Sometimes the tiniest subtle signs are nothing, but sometimes they aren't. Although he is most likely just fine since he could have been tired and he may just be a pale dude!

^ I was thinking tired too.. but there is no harm in taking him in. It's odd that he would be pale and still warm. Normally when I turn pale when I'm about to faint or whatever, I get cold.

Could he have been too bundled up?? I dunno, that would make him rosy I think.

Hmm... I dunno!

I dunno, Matthew is fair skinned (has my coloring) and for some reason he looks paler outside than he does inside. I think I notice it more b/c the light is better if that makes sense. So it may be nothing but if you're worried then you can mention it to your SIL and maybe she ask her pedi.

We don't have winter here but when Amara was a few weeks old, we went out to get some outfits and the mall was pretty cold. The corners of her eyes turned blue and it freaked me out. I had her swaddled pretty well and in her hat but that still happen. I think it may be something similar. When I asked her pedi, she said that it was normal.
