Can we get a little update when you find a few minutes? How are you doing with your c/s recovery? How is the BF going? I know it was going well when he was first born. How did it go with your mom coming? Is Eric's mom with you now? And more pictures when you have a little extra time!

Hi chicas,
This newborn thing has been a bit overwhelming... although he doesn't do "much" (just eats, sleeps, poops, cries... like all newborns lol) it seems like I'm always going from one baby task to the next... he is still a GREAT breastfeeder and I believe he may be hitting something of a growth spurt yesterday and today, since he's down to 90 min to 2 hours between feedings, whereas he was going 3-4 hours in between. Luckily, he's been a pretty good night sleeper too. With a combination of tight swaddling (both arms in), a big meal right before bed, and the vibration on his basinet we are getting about 4 hours stretches of sleep every night at a time. He'll wake up once to eat and then another 4 hours down. Then I take naps during the day when I can so all in all I'm not dying of sleep deprivation. As far as recovering from the c-section, I feel 10 times better today than I did a week ago. I'm not gonna lie, the first several days were horrible, I was in a ton of pain, and could barely walk or move around at all. This was at the same time that my poor nipples were at their most sensitive from all the breastfeeding, and I had soreness from engorgement, and I just generally felt like poo. Now, the incision has healed really well, my abdominal muscles are starting to come back little by little and I am up and about more every day. I'm daydreaming of the day that I can get on a stair climber or take a jog though, as my tummy is like that proverbial deflated balloon and I can't wait to just feel 100% like my old productive, fit self again.
We had our photographer (the same one who did my maternity shoot) come to the house when he was 5 days old to do some professional newborn pics. We got just a couple of them back so far and they are adorable! We should be getting the rest of the proofs on Tuesday so I'll share more then.

Awwww he's adorable! Glad you're doing okay. Hopefully you'll get into the hang of things and it wont be as overwhelming.

Luckily my incision is very low and pretty small. She also used some kind of special stitches that don't make the sewn-together scar look later on. I haven't looked too closely at it myself because it skeeves me out a little that I was cut open right there... but TMI, if I wanted to I could always cover the scar up with pubic hair!

He is beautiful
My pubes just grow around my super low scar Maybe I could do some sort of comb over if I grow 'em long enough. I'll let you know how that goes if I do.
I had a dream with you in it last night. It was very strange. Glad you are healing well, and I remember being so busy those first 6 weeks even though he slept a lot. Way to go with the 4 hour stretches of sleep! Swaddling rulz.
