We are now looking for a convertible car-seat for Alice. I have about two dozen of them bookmarked, but I am having a really tough time choosing one. Was wondering if any of you BTDT mommas can spare a little advice?

I really want a convertible with a high weight limit for rear-facing. We are planning on extended RFing, and need a seat to accommodate that. I also want a seat that is safe, and comfortable for Alice to be in.

Any suggestions?

I like the Recaro Signo.. I personally like Recaro because I'm a car geek and this nice looking seat goes well with my modified car.. lol I know that Recaro makes high quality seats and if they make car seats for Nascar drivers, the make one heck of a convertible car seat.. Adriana loves her seat.. It's vary comfortable and offers Side Impact Protection.. What's also nice about this seat is that it's hard for toddlers to figure out how to get out of it.. I've read stories of toddlers getting out of Britax seats, etc.. I've never had the problem..

You should check out this video.. It's a video of a lady showing the features of the seat..

YouTube - RECARO Signo Carseat Review

If you like this seat.. I know a place where it's on sale for $199, in blue and pink.. The regular price for this seat is $285.

I'm getting a True Fit Premier for Nora - it has great reviews and it has weight limits for extended rear facing (check out the car seat safety board - those ladies are great very smart about car seats!) Search first years or learning curve true fit premier!

I love those Recaro seats, and I think they look way comfy, but I have actually read some bad reviews for them! I am still undecided though, so I will definitely be adding it to my ever-growing list!

Keri- I am liking the True Fit!

The thing with looking for car seats, there's bad reviews on all car seat. Even the famous Britax seats get bad reviews... It's just how it goes.. There's not a "perfect" seat..

Good luck with whatever you decide..

We had the Evenflo Titan for Seamus and I hated it, I dont care for evenflo products though.

We are getting the Graco MyRide 65 for Kieran when we get our taxes (or sooner if dh's hours stay crazy like this...18hrs of overtime last week!). I've read lots of good reviews when I was entering blog giveaways and it seems comfy and it rear faces till 40lbs. I'm getting the purple, thank god they have a girl seat thats not just pink!

I don't have BTDT advice but I'm pretty sure we are getting the Graco MyRide. I've looked at it and it seems comfortable and RFs till 40 pounds.
I don't think I'm allowed to post the link but google "car seat forum" and you will find a forum with ladies who are like the car seat queens or something. Many are car seat installation technicians and they know a LOT about the ins and outs of different seats. I got some pros and cons and opinions of different seats off that site.

Landen has the same as Cambria and I love it!!! I switch cars alot and it goes in and out so easy, it is also super easy to clean. My sister had and used one just like it for 4 years and it still looks brand new. She was also in a pretty bad wreck and her little girls seat didn't budge.
