Still pregnant, sore, and achy. I had my weekly appointment today and had an NST done and fluid levels checked. Everything looked fine. The OB did not do an internal check. He said there was no reason to and will just assume that I am still where I was the past 2 weeks (1cm dialated).
He wants me to go into L&D on Wednesday night to start misoprostol and hopefully be able to get some rest and start pitocin Thursday morning depending on how the misoprostol works.
I know that lots of women go past 40 weeks and I am eager to have my baby but I am just frustrated about being induced and reading about misoprostol online has just upset me.
*sigh*

I'm sorry. Here I don't know any doctors who use misoprostol, just cervidil, which is what will be used to induce me next monday. Is that an option your doctor might use? I hate induction talk too, especially using pitocin, which is what will be used if I make it until monday.

I'm sorry. I hope baby will make his/her arrival before. I'd ask the doc about other options and see what's possible. (((HUGS)))

When/why do people get their membranes stripped? Maybe you could get that to jump start labor

Im sorry sweetie, I know how much it sucks being at that point!! I had an induction date set and that got Kennedi's little butt in gear. I told her the night I went into labor that if she didnt hurry up and choose her birthday herself, she was getting a set birthday..my induction date was for 3 days later..that got her going alright cuz that night I was in labor and had her some 38 hours later!
Itll be over before you know it!! Lots of labor vibes for you!!

I'm so sorry Kati! I'm saying a prayer that you go into labor on your own before Wednesday night. Is your OB dead-set on inducing you at 1 week past due? My OB would have allowed 2 weeks as long as the NST was going well.

I've used misoprostal (used it when I had my miscarriage)......it took a long time to start working (about 12 hours) and my midwife had told me that it would kick in in about an hour!!!!!! It definitely started the contractions, which is what I needed.
I was terrified about taking it because I read all these things about uterine rupture....but it ended up being a godsend for me. Fingers crossed that you don't even need to use it!!!

Kati - don't read stuff online girl, it'll all just freak you out.....I had two GREAT inductions....with Harrison I hadn't begun to labor at all on my own except for being 80% and 2 cm....so an induction CAN go very well! With Nora I did begin to have labor contractions on my own and they helped it along with pit because of my BP but again the pit was fine and she came fast and easy! I would also recommend walking...we took a long family walk the night before I went into labor with Nora!
Good luck girl....I want to meet this little surprise!!!

I agree with Keri! I had 2 awesome inductions. Just stay walking and my midwife got me in the shower and made me do nipple stimulation. The birthing ball and squats really brought both my girls down too and made labor more painful but quicker. I never had pit, just prostaglandin gel, and labor kept going by itself. Praying it's easy for you hun and can't wait to find out what you're having
