So the good news, yesterday I ended up taking Matthew to the pedi because he had been coughing and pulling at his ear. His ears were fine so that was a relief. I also got her to check his most recent poo and she said if anything it was only very very faintly positive for blood, so that is improvement from last time! She is going to help me get his GI appointment going since they still haven't called me about it. She said the main reason she wants me to take him there is b/c just in case he doesn't outgrow this (and she said she hopes/thinks he will) that it would be good for him to have already been to see them and gotten established as a patient. She said she doubted they would want to scope him and I asked about formula as well. She said one of the docs in the group had asked a mom to go to formula, but it was a different situation because there was visible blood in the poo. She said one the docs that she liked said that if you don't see improvement after 2-3 weeks of changing your diet, then you should just go back to eating what you want and keep nursing. Well we've seen some improvement (though he's backslide and had more mucus/gas/night waking the past couple days and I have NO idea why) but I think I am going to try soon to start eating some of the things I cut out. My birthday treat to myself I think will be eating some cheese. That way I can also kind of test it and see if it's really a problem b/c if it is, then he should get worse. I'm hopeful that maybe I can eat a few of the things I cut out without bad effects.
Also...I have pictures!
