I'm pretty sure i've decided i want a travel system but that's all i know so far. I LOVE the one below but it's also more expensive than most:
Chicco Cortina Travel System Stroller - Miro - Chicco - Babies "R" Us

What kind did you get and how happy are you with it? I've heard excellent things about Chicco and the specific car seat above goes to 30 lbs instead of the typical 22. What's your opinion?

TIA!!

Thats a lovely buggy!

We had a graco tour delux travel system, The car seat is upto 28lb/9 months what ever you feel comftable with.
I totaly loved the buggy to push, I could stear it with one hand, it also has one hand folding.
Only problem i had with it was that the buggy bit was too big and unpractical wich ment we couldnt really take the buggy with us if we needed to go food shopping otherwise we wouldnt have any room in the boot of the car for the food!
Needless to say we ended up having to get a smaller buggy pretty early on.

I didn't go with a travel system. I got a car seat with an extra base (Peg Perego) and then one of those snap and go stroller bases for when he was an infant. I then bought a big stroller/pram when he outgrew the snap and go. I heard a lot of moms say they didn't like the travel systems because they are big and heavy and didn't use them much together. But other love them.

I like this one you've picked Krista!

Aura? Select Travel System, Oh!

We got this travel system when we had Harrison - four years ago....so they don't have the same colors - however I like this color combo. We are using this with Nora and so far its worked great! It's about $160 bucks. We're about to be done with the infant seat though...Nora is getting her convertible for Christmas!!!

I didn't really like the travel system I had (I think it was a Graco). I had trouble folding it and then it didn't fit very well in the back of my car (the stroller part). And once it was in my car it left no room for groceries or diaper bags or anything else. This time I am just getting an infant car seat and using a wrap to carry baby for the most part. I didn't really need a stroller until Gem was 20+ pounds and that was only because I carried her in my arms. I think with the wrap I will be able to forgo the stroller completely or just get a little collapsible umbrella stroller.

we have a gracco metrolite travel system and LOVE it......I got the infant seat - the snug ride 32 and its very light- the stroller is also very light and not bulky because we went with the metrolite.

We got the Graco Snugride and the Metrolite stroller. I liked that the stroller is a little lighter than some travel systems but it is still pretty big (but you have to have big if you want all the "features"). I have really liked being able to snap the infant seat into the stroller.
One thing to think about is the carseat going up to a heavy weight limit wouldn't be a big deal to me, because let me tell you, Matthew is 20 pounds and I am REALLY struggling to carry him around in the infant carrier. We're about to move to a convertible seat.

Graco Passage Travel System Stroller - Abbington - Graco - Babies "R" Us

That's the one I had. I have nothing bad to say about it, and I still use the stroller.

I decided against getting a travel system and I don't regret it. I can't think of one time when I would have needed/wanted it. It would have been a waste of money for me, so I am glad I decided against it. I got an infant seat, a Maxi Cosi with the Latch system base. The Latch base is the best thing ever and worth every cent. It made our seat so much more secure than with a seat belt. When we go out shopping, I just pop off the seat and put it in the shopping cart. For longer outings, I use my Baby Bjorn. The Maxi Cosi is great- he goes to sleep immediately once in it. For when he outgrows that one, I have purchased a Recaro Young Sport.

Jax is already 2 months old (wow, when did that happen?!), and he will be able to be put into a lightweight umbrella stroller at 3 mo. We got a Maclaren, which I am excited to use.

I didn't go with a travel system either. I got Amara the Chicco Keyfit as her infant seat, a Recaro Signo for her convertible seat and a Kolcraft Umbrella/Lightweight Stroller which we used from around 6 months. I've been really happy with all these systems.

I have the Chicco Coventry keyfit 22 and I love it..

One thing to remember is that the Chicco carseats does not clip on to the front seat of shopping carts.. My seat is smaller then keyfit and it still takes up the cart.. It's a safety issue, that's why Chicco designed the seat not to go on the front of the cart..

My seat also does not clip onto my Graco stroller (from my DD).. I'd go with the set.. I would have, but we need a sit and stand stroller..

I personally went with the Coventry because it's a smaller seat.. And I plan on putting Anthony in his Convertible car seat around 6-7 months old. We already purchased a Recaro Signo for my son and once he grows out of the Chicco Coventry we can switch him right over.. I don't like the bigger infant seats because once they are around 6 months, they are to heavy to lug around.. My DD was 25 lbs and 32 inches at her 24 month check up.. Even when she was 18 months old, there would be no way she would sit in a seat like that.. To me, it's kind of a waste of money and it's a bulkier seat..

But I have to admit, The Chicco I have is the best boy looking car seat I found.. I do prefer the Chicco over the Graco.. Chicco feels more well made, then the Graco..

We got a Graco Snugride, but not the 'travel system.' We bought a BOB Revolution stroller, which the Graco infant seat can snap into with an adapter. My girlfriend has this stroller and I've used it before. It's amazing. It isnt super small, but it can get in malls/stores with ease, fold up in your trunk, and is soooo easy to control and steer in any terrain. Plus it can be used for jogging which was a big bonus for me.
