I just put together and tried out a nursing stool! How did I nurse before this!?! It is awesome! I should have used this and a pillow instead of that stupid boppy.
True story: I never got one because whenever I saw it on a "must have" baby list, I thought to myself, "why the heck would I want to nurse while sitting on some tiny stool!?" Yeah, I can be dense

its a foot rest while your sitting - with your feet proped, it helps you keep your posture while making breastfeeding just that much easier instead of hunching over, with 3 pillows

From what I read in her post I think she is sitting on it. I thought it was a stool to prop the feet up too.
I have a stool that came with my glider but I never cared for putting my feet up to nurse.

LOL, no I thought it was to sit on, which makes no sense. Then I realized it is for your feet to rest on - to give you more of a lap to nurse the baby with. So I ordered one and it is awesome! I am in a much better position while nursing Jack now. But yeah, when I was preggo I totally thought a nursing stool was for the mama to sit on which is not true. That would make BFing WAY harder! lol

Hmmm... I will add one to my list and see if I end up trying it out. Thanks for the heads up!

I never liked the boppy. It sat too low around my waist - my boobies didn't hang down far enough to reach him I guess it would work now, but I started nursing him just laying on my lap around 6 weeks. Since I have shorter legs then some, this thing helps a ton!

When I used my boppy I always had to have a pillow under each side to get it up higher. It was okay but didn't work that great. Plus when recovering from my c/s it hurt to use it. After Oliver got better at nursing and more head control and stuck it in the closet.

I still use my boppy, just more comfy to me. I use it in chairs that have arm rests so the boppy kinda sits on those which elevates it to the right height. My glider has a rocking ottoman which I use some of the time.

I never used my boppy much (forgot to mention that on Michelle's baby items list). It just didn't really work for me.

Glad you like it!
I always just used a pillow (never a boppy or anything similar). I couldn't bring myself to spend 30 bucks on a pillow and it worked just fine LoL. I'm a cheapo

I put other pillows under the Boppy to elevate it too. It needs to be twice as thick to get his mouth to nipple level LOL. However, my glider has a gliding ottoman, but it also has a nursing stool part that pulls out and stays stationary. It really props up my knees and makes nursing a lot easier. Anything to prop your feet on about 6 inches off the floor would work the same.

I loved my boppy!! Kirsty loved it too but got dependant on it and I found it very difficult to nurse her when I was out of the house anywhere because she refused to lay on my lap!

Angela, you see what I am saying!
The stool is great. Much better then using books or whatever to try and make it work. I did the boppy + pillow thing for a while, then just pillows, finally I ended up with using nothing and just propping my feet on something or not. The stool is nice though. Already other people over at our house have put their feet up on it too, lol. After a while, making due with homemade fixes gets old, esp. since they never worked as well to begin with. I have an ottoman too, but this has 3 different angled positions so it is more comfy then the glider ottoman, although that is nice for what it is. Jack is too long to nurse in that chair now anyways.
The boppy was great to elevate Jack when he slept when he was little though! And now it helps him stay sturdy when he sits up, although he can go for 15-20 min on his own now without falling over.

Dustin took a couple of pics w/ my cell so you can see it!
it angles which means I can put my feet flat on it, which makes it better then my ottoman that came with my glider or using pillows to rest my feet on or something. You can see how much it elevates my legs. I wish I knew about this sooner.
