UPDATE 12/15: they didn't get him back last night. They went to the house for a 'noise disturbance' and everyone underage appeared sober and there was no visible alcohol. They were even making chicken for dinner. Everything was looking like a normal home so they couldn't take him. We're working out a new plan now.

UPDATE 11:35PM: I got an address and talked to her BF and he was off his rocker drunk and my sister said she had been drinking too. So the police are sending a car to the address to check on the situation. Hopefully we are getting him back in about 20 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The judge will not grant a custody order to my stepmom since my sister took my nephew out of state. We have to go through WV courts to get him back. I called my sister tonight under the guise of finding out when we're doing Christmas again. I got her talking a little more and I found out a lot of things.

She is planning on staying there permanently. She isn't on birth control and isn't using protection. They are drinking pretty much constantly (she said they've gone through 3 cases of beer in 3 days). She said this guys family is all alcoholics and make homemade peach wine and they supply her with alcohol. There was super loud music in the background and she said they play loud country 24/7. Apparently this guy's cousin and his GF are going to move into the house as well so there will be 4 adults and my nephew in a 2 bedroom home. She said her BF collects knives and they need to figure out where they are going to put them to get them away from my nephew. They have a pitbull puppy (I don't have anything against the breed but these don't sound like the kind of people who get one to raise it to be nice). She was complaining that they are out of cigarettes so I know they are smoking in the house and around my nephew. She told me her and her BF went out quad riding and left my nephew in his cousins care. Then she went to let the dog out and I guess my nephew tried to run out as well because she yelled, "Get your *&%$ feet back in here or I'll slam them in the door!"

I'm just horrified right now. I asked what he'd eaten and she said 2 hotdogs and a grilled cheese. That is NOT good nutrition for a toddler! She said the guys went on a beer run because they were out. So I called my stepmom and told her to call the police in a couple hours because then they can bust them all for drinking and supplying a minor with alcohol and then remove my nephew from them. She's trying to call in a favor from our law enforcement family. I'm just praying they will go take my nephew out of that hole and get him back where he belongs!

That is just awful. I just don't understand what she is thinking. It doesn't sound like it is anything that could possibly last long, which is always good, but geez.

wow... I am so angry for you right now! This is ridiculous what she is doing. doesn't she care at ALL???? GRRRR I hope something happens soon and your nephew is back home shortly. this does not sound like a good environment for a TODDLER! poor little guy.

This is all so awful. I feel so bad for that little boy. I sure hope she doesn't end up pregnant because it doesn't seem like she wants to be a mother to the one she already has.

Thanks guys. I just talked to my stepmom again and she said that as soon as we have an address the cops will go over there and act as if its for the loud music and then bust them on the drinking. So I'm trying my hardest to get an address out of them right now. Please pray that she coughs up a real address for us to go get my nephew!

Wow, what a scary situation! I hope they are able to bust them on the drinking and get your nephew out of there. He doesn't need to be in that environment. It sounds like your sister just wants to drink and party, not be a mom.

That's so horrible! I hate to hear of situations like these. It's so unfair to the children and it happens so often.I can never understand how persons can ill-treat children. It just breaks my heart.

I hope you all can rescue your nephew from this terrible situation and also try to have some sort of intervention for your sister. I too hope that she does not become pregnant because that would just be another unfortunate situation.

Wow, thats just terrible!! Your poor nephew! You are definitly doing more than the right thing! I cant believe his mother is allowing this to go on around her son, that just blows my mind!!!! I hope the cops got there in time to catch them!
