So he ended up sending a very....harrassing letter to my midwifes. I could shoot this man. He said Im VERRRRY high risk, and told them everything he informed me and basically told them that they are risking my life letting me have a VBA2C. Which, ok, I am high risk after having 2 c-sections - but OMG who in the world would jump into risks like this without knowing the fine print?! Does he really think Im that stupid?!?! He flat out said "I dont mind her switching to you, Im completely fine with that" UM WHO ASKED YOU?! Your not my parents and your certainly NOT god!!! The nerve he has....lets just say my midwife was a bit astonished that he would even try to contact us like this and basically try to throw me off course. He also said he took care of my "previous pregnancie'S" hence the S there....um excuse me?! I switched to him when I was 28 weeks pregnant with MORGAN, my 2nd child!!! She will be informing him that I/WE are not appreciative of his phone call, and his his letter in attempt to scare me into a c-section. What is he thinking?! She wants to send him a picture of me in the birthing tub holding the baby, and smiling So much for thinking he cared about me...I can dream right?
Can I just say - I LOVE MY MIDWIFES!!!

I'd send a copy of that letter to the hospital he delivers at. He had no right to do that at all, completely unprofessional!

I wouldn't do anything other than send him a photo of you in the tub with your baby after your successful VBAC!

I am a bit surprised he sent the letter to your midwives but I do think he's very concerned but that may just be me. I know some doctors/persons wouldn't give 2 "cahoots" about what you are doing but he knows the risks and even though they are small he's perhaps trying to make sure that you do have all your bases covered especially since you have 2 young children to be concerned.
If I was in your position, I would call him and tell him that I understand his concerns but I've done the research, know the risks and am comfortable that I can get through this without complications. And, also that my midwives are highly trained and have coached me about this option as well. In addition, I would let him know that if a complication should present itself that the hospital is very close by.
AND THEN, I'd send him the pic after the successful VBA2C!

Woah! Okay, I was an advocate for this doc last thread, but I don't know... that borders on concerned and strange.

I would seriously report him. I know everyone said he was just concerned in the last thread but this is seriously messed up. First off, WE hire the doctors, they don't choose us! Doctors seem to forget that they are in a CUSTOMER SERVICE business. Yes they are much higher paid than a retail clerk but they have the same job description! They are there to provide a service! Second, he already expressed his concerns with you. Due to doctor-patient privelege he is NOT allowed to discuss your health history with anyone else, including your midwives, unless you sign a release! He violated the HIPPA laws which are there to protect you from harassment due to your health history! Report him and give a copy of his letter to the media and in a few months send his office a pic of your successful delivery! But do NOT let him get away with this! How many other women do you think he has scared out of their dream births?!

Thats bananas! I'm pretty sure your midwives know the risks of having a VBA2C. I definitely agree with them taking pics of 1) you pushing the baby out (kind of gross but proves the point!) and 2) you and the baby bonding right after birth.

Hes already spoke to you on the phone so i dont think he should have gone behind your back and tried to get your midwife to his tearms.

thanks for your input ladies!!! I will be emailing Jesica to see what further we can do, and what she feels comfortable doing. Ladies, she has delivered over 400 babies, half being VBACs - I HIGHLY doubt she would take me on without knowing the risks herself
