Ummmm yea my stupid AF is back. !!!!! Witch!!!
I was hoping shed be gone til at least Alexa was 12 mons. But whatever. When she was 7 mons I had some spotting. I cried to DH like my life was over. I was so sad she was back. I was like "i'm not ready to get preggo Again. Why does my body think I'm ready!!!". Seriously-Alexa is only bf'ed and only from the booB- I don't pump or give her any food at all. And then yesterday she came back in full force. So I count this now my first period. Alexa is almost 9 mons. So I guess itsnot that bad but I'm still a lit mad if u can't tell!
Anyways I'm using a diva cup and I love it. I bought it the month before I found out I was preggo in June 08 and never used it. So when Af came back I tried t and it's great. Comfy, easy to use and no more tampons !!! Anyone else use it? DH calls me crunchy now. I'm all into Bfig, baby wearing, cosleeping and my diva cup . Fun

I got my first PP AF when Oliver was 9 months old too.
I don't have a Diva Cup but thought about getting one. They sell them at my local Whole Foods. I have used cloth pads for some time now.
I have such a light flow that I have always just used pads. I'm nervous about trying to get the Diva Cup up in there.. does it take some time to figure out how it works?

No it's not hard to use. It's easier than I thought. First time I used I wore a liner in case it leaked. U roll it up so ts like a tampon and u shove it in. Lol @ shove it in.
My flow is lightbut I could never wear pads. My pp pad use sucked butt so I will never again ... Only pp wearing. I bought mine from whole foods too. U girls should try it. And u don't have to change it much. I do a couple times a day. And I don't feel it at all.

Yes, I have one that I used for 6 months before I got pregnant. I have a slightly different review. For me, it did take awhile to get used to putting it in properly. My first AF, I had a lot of leaks... probably because I was not putting it in correctly. I did love that it only has to be emptied every 12 hrs or so, which is so convenient. I drank tons of coffee which equaled tons of peeing which equaled a ton of tampon changes, so it was awesome to not have to change it so often. BUT I found it to not be very comfortable. If I wasn't very active it was fine. But I often walked several miles per day at that time, and found I got a bit sore after a time (no leakage though). After 6 months, I went back to tampons.
I may try it again now. Maybe after having a birth things are a bit stretched out and I won't have the same discomfort probs. But if I would have to purchase another one (the size for after you give birth), I would not do so.

I think I'll have to go research how the Diva Cup works. I have some really "interesting" questions running through my head but am a bit embarrassed to ask them here. More likely than not, they're stupid questions that I just don't know the answer to because I don't really know anything about the Diva Cup.

I have used it! (before I got preggo) It's not super duper comfy for me for some reason when I am awake, but I use it when I am asleep. I don't like using tampons anymore but pads at night just don't cut it. (I started using cloth pads)
Man I am sorry your AF is back. I'd be pissed off too because of the EBFing! But I guess 9 months is a good run.
I used the smaller size so I dunno if I will have to get the other size that is for women who have had a baby.

i use the diva cup! i have used it for a while, maybe like a year at this point?
99% of the time i find it really easy to use, but the odd time it doesnt pop open when its 'up in there' (lol) and i have to take it out and put it in again. i love that you can wear it for a long long time too, its WAY easier than tampons IMO. plus you never leave home without ur AF supplies since it's always with u! i got my divacup at my local health food store. i use cloth pads when my flow is really light at night, or when i have a heavy flow i use the divacup plus a cloth pad.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the diva cup....for traveling its a must! I will never where a tampon again! I used it for months before getting preggo....haven't got AF yet so I haven't tried it. There are two sizes and I have the small one...I don't think I will need to move up post baby. I love it because I was very regular and I would just pop it in the night before I should start so I didn't have to worry when it did start. My first day was pretty heavy but I still could go 12 hrs before emptying. I could water ski without that full of water tampon feeling, I could be on a beach and not worry about a string poking out. Great for camping or traveling to places with poor access to washing. LOVE IT!
Sorry the witch is back anna...I had some spotting once and I got all excited--but then I would love to be knocked up again! LOL Hubby isn't ready though.

I have the small size -- didn't need to go up post preggo either. I only got to use it once so far -- my vag STILL hurts 5 months later so I've been having to use playtex gentle glide instead of my regular diva cup or tampax.

Hmmmm, I may look into it when AF comes back post-baby. I have no idea where I would get one here. i guess order online. But it would probably be worth a try from the sounds of it!

Now I am wondering about you questions Mari! I hardly had periods thanks to PCOS so I never looked into it. I don't like anything touching my cervix though and would be afraid to put it too close to that.

My diva cup is almost a year old, and still going strong! The best thing ever. Never have to worry about running out of tampons. Now I've started using cloth pads for back up too.

I bought one maybe a year a so ago, but couldn't get the hang of it. It wouldn't pop open for me. It just stayed all rolled and squished. Not comfy at all for me. I gave it a few attempts then threw it out.
Not exactly a returnable item. So be sure you want to invest the time to get the hang of it...as they are $20+

Saw this topic and am dropping over from the WTTC board.
I have a Diva cup and I am learning to love it again! I do have vulvar vestibulitis so it occasionally makes using the cup uncomfortable...but most times, I love it. Can be a bit tricky to get in there just right, but I much prefer it over tampons and pads!

I have one. I loved it until I had one incident (while I was at work, of course) that was really bad. It wouldn't stop leaking no matter what I did. It was like my third time using it and I hadn't really had a problem before, but I was probably putting it in wrong. I've been a little scared to use it ever since as I don't want that to happen again! I might start using it again once I'm a SAHM since I wouldn't be stuck at work if I had a problem.

Michelle, basically I wanted to know how it works and what happens to the blood (like does it fill up and then you have to dump it out ) plus a whole host of other stuff along those lines.
