Jack had his 6 month appt. Everything is normal! Jack is "advanced" (ha!) in a few things - fake coughing being one of them. Anytime he is choking we rush to sit him up and pat his back, so he figured out it is a GREAT way to get mommy and daddy's attention! It is pretty funny. He also sits up well on his own without tipping over, is very vocal, and as usual, has great finger dexterity. He also loves to stand and is starting to pull himself up. Eek, I need to babyproof before he learns to crawl! He still would rather yell then roll tummy to back (although he rolls back to tummy fine), but other then that he seems to be right on track.
We have yet to start solids b/c I am hesitant. But I think he will get his first bite this weekend. We are still EBFing, CDing and he is vacc free so far.
MY question: does anyone else have an extremely laid back Ped? Jack's doc just takes my word for everything. At his appt. he just felt his body around some, looked in his eyes and ears, and that was it! I guess I should be glad?
Well . . . might as well post some pictures!
This will be a pic overload, as usual

So cute! I love his funny face pic's
Kieran's (and Seamus) normal pedi is pretty laid back and more modern then the others in the office(we only see them when we need a same day appt, other wise we see our pedi of choice). She will take our word for things, and if we have a consirn is when she checks, or if we aren't really sure if they are doing what shes asking.

Seriously... I LOVE his funny face pics! The 3rd one of him in his blue shirt, that is WAY too cute!
As for the pedi, mine has me fill out a sheet answering questions about new milestones and to stop when I've circled 3 questions/milestones they can't complete or haven't completed yet. Because Taylor's 2 (even though I filled out this sheet at her 1 year appt.) they have you fill out a sheet with questions about autism. Once the pedi comes in she talks about food, sleeping habits, vaccines, looks them over and plays with them for a minute and that's about it

you're lucky you get these checks, in the UK we get a 2month check, then that's it until a pre-school one.
he sounds like he's doing fab!!! His toofers are so sweet Don't worry about him not rolling tummy to back - Kirsty was late learning that, but what they are a little slow on doing, they make up for being advanced in doing something else.
Kirsty started crawling last Thursday It's cute but omgosh she is fast!!!

He's just so cute! I love his expressions.
I guess that as long as he looks healthy your pedi is comfortable with taking your word.
My pedi usually takes my word for it too. She'll ask if I have any concerns and address them if I have but apart from that she always seems content with my answers. Once the chat session is over, she'll do the checks (eyes, ears, weight, length, etc.) while singing nursery rhymes/children's songs and then she'll play with her a bit and that's it. I love our pedi, she's a real gem!

We have a pretty laid back ped too...however if I call about either of the kids having a fever she's see's them right away....even meeting us up at the office on a Saturday (she's got an office that's just her....no other docs). She's pretty awesome! Her and her family live in our neighborhood as does her nurse so we see them all pretty often at kid functions around the neighborhood too!
I think you might be surprised how well Jack does on solids and how much he likes them! Nora LOVES food, her teacher told me this morning she loves feeding her cause she opens her mouth so wide and throws her head back it makes her laugh....and I believe it is what is helping her sleep thru the night (7:30 to 7:30 ahhhhh!) She tried peas for the first time last night and she didn't make a yuck face or anything - like every other thing we've given her she just eats it up like she's had it all her life...I'm curiuos to see when you do start if Jack likes it!

He is so adorable, I love his little facial expressions! And good for him on being on track, and even a bit ahead.
My pedi is very laid back too. Both of them, Kylie's and Elsa's. Basically as long as weight, height, everything is in check, the pedi takes my word, and says, well, sounds good. I think most of them know that parents know their kids best, and if there is a concern, you'd be on top of it.

Our pedis sound pretty cool. I thought they usually make the baby "perform" at checkups. MAri, I am LOL imagining my middle aged male pedi singing at our appt
OMG Fiona, that is great she is crawling! I demand a video!
Keri, I'll let you know how it goes.

Jack is such a cute baby and looks just like you!
Oliver pedi is laid back. She basicly checks him over and asks me a couple standard questions. She always tells me he is perfect. She also never questions my co-sleeping, EBF, and non-vaxing. I love Oliver's doc.

He's so adorable I love all his facial expressions!!!
Our doctor is our family doctor and he's fantastic. He's pretty laid back and super nice. It's a shame Curtis hates him so much!! He hasn't been to him since he was 2 though I think he'd think differently now. I need to get Dustin in!

I love Jack he is just too cutie, and i am not sure why but he reminds me so much of Landen!!! I love his little teeths and he sounds like a little smarty diapers !!!
My doctors (never same one here) do about the same as yours! It bothered me a bit too at first, but for real who's going to lie about their kids development to their doctor kwim. So I can see why they just take my word for it.

Aww what a cutie!
Our ped is laid back too -- she knows we don't wanna vax yet and never questions us or asks us -- she just asks us about his eating/sleeping/pooping/peeing/developments, checks him over, weighs him checks his length and thats all.
