Well, I'm sort of a chunky girl. I'm embarrassed to take belly pictures so I've been putting it off. I'm 40 lbs lighter than my highest adult weight and spent 9 months working those pounds off. Now I'm gaining it back and feel awful. I worked so hard to take it off. Any of my wttc grad girls have a similar story? Did you decide to take belly pics?

I started my pregnancy at my highest adult weight, and honestly, it was hard to take those first couple belly pics, because I was so bloated and gross. I am glad I took belly pics, but could have skipped pretty much the whole first trimester - I really just looked chunky up until about 15 weeks.

After 15 weeks though, I am SO glad I took the pics, I was definitely looking more pregnant and it sure is fun to look back and remember how everything was changing!

I lost 50 lbs prior to getting pregnant. Took me about 9 months as well. I started my pregnancy at right around 210, maybe a little less (I gained about 5 - 10 lbs with my miscarriage that I never lost before getting pregnant again). I'm 5ft 10 but ideally would have liked to be about 180 before getting pregnant again - my goal weight was 175.

I still took belly pictures! You can click on the link in my siggy and see them. All the other girls are tiny tiny but, I figured even if I'm not 100% happy with how I look, I will want to look back and see my belly grow. I just don't do bare belly photos anymore because my belly does this weird thing on the bottom that I am not a fan of.

I say do it - even if it is just for yourself.

I dont see anything wrong with taking belly pic's. You dont have to show us or anyone if you dont want to but you will have them forever and you can look back and see how you've grown.

I agree with everyone else. I really regret not taking belly pics with Gem! Even if I didn't like my body I still would because it sucks not having any 5 years later!

I agree with taking belly pics. You might look back on them with your next pregnancy and see that you've lost a lot of weight. Or maybe you can start taking belly pics when your belly starts to round out

I'm very overweight, and didn't start taking belly pictures till I was 20weeks, I looked farther along then I was because of my weight. And saddly I look the same now as I did at about 8mo (I even got asked the other day "how old is the baby" "8mo" then "And your having ANOTHER one?" )

But ya I didn't start taking them till 20weeks I'm about 70lbs over weight now (50-60ish when pregnant)

I know I'm not hugely overweight but I have always been very self concious about my tum, but I am so glad I did belly piccies. It's amazing how you forget what your tum was like in pregnancy. As Amy said, you don't have to share them anywhere but for your own memories down the line.

I agree with what the others have posted. You should take them, even if you don't show them here. We all come in different shapes, sizes, etc and we are not all going to have a flat, toned, round or whatever tummy that is deemed cute and lovely by society's standards but it's great to have those shots to watch how your stomach changes as the babies grow.

I haven't taken any yet because I carry most of my extra weight in my belly. I will probably take one this week though. I wish I had started at the beginning but part of me was scared of another loss as well. I say, do it even if you don't share them.

Take pictures! Even if you don't share them with a single soul but DH, you will be so happy you have them when LO is older.

I agree with everyone else, take the pictures! You will want them to look back on!

I am overweight as well and reallllly self-conscious. But I started taking pictures at about 14 weeks, and I am so so glad I decided to!

yup Im about *dont gawk please* 120lbs overweight, and yes I take belly pictures. Some weeks I mesh into one, but most of the time I get them taken every week- embarrassing, yes, humbling, very much- beautiful? I think so

I think more of the normal girls should be taking belly pics, as I feel like all you see are the super skinny girls showing off their belly pics. I started out my pregnancy with Kylie 20lbs more than my usual weight, so I was a little embarassed, but as the pregnancy went on I felt like I looked better so it got easier. I would go ahead and take them, I am sure you look great!

You should at least take one "before" picture, even if you don't post it. And then when you're into the 2nd tri and starting to see yourself rounding out you can take another one every couple of weeks. You don't have to go crazy and take one every week like some girls, but I think that you will at least be glad that you have several of them from different stages of growth later on. If you're doing a pregnancy journal or scrapbook of your own, you'll definitely want those in there. Also, even if you don't take any other pictures of yourself pregnant, I definitely recommend having an amateur or professional maternity "shoot" around 7 months when you're showing and glowing the most. My own pregnancy wasn't a picnic, and stretch marks took their toll on my poor belly in the end, but I am glad to have some professional photos that remind me not just of how big I was, but how round, radiant and yes, sexy. Every pregnant belly is so beautiful and you will love yours too, I promise!
