Maternity pics

Another thing I really, REALLY want is a GREAT maternity shoot! I have no idea where to start looking or how much I'm going to need to save for this. Ladies who had maternity pics taken, how much did you have to spend? What did you get for your money? How happy with your photos were you (examples!

)? Looking back now are you glad you did them?

I have almost NO pics of me pregnant with Gem and I really wish I did. I'm taking tons of belly pics this time but I think I would really appreciate some truly artistic photos to look back on, you know ones where I don't think I looked like a whale and I don't have pimples showing all over!

Thoughts?

Thats something I really wanted to but 1 of the down falls of having one income is I dont have say on what I can buy

Thats one thing I miss about working! I had my SIL take them. There ok but not exactualy what I wanted. I know Bre had nice ones thats how I would have liked them. Here's a couple.

I'm not getting them, but in looking for a photographer for newborn pics, most offer a maternity/newborn package. I live in a major city, so everything is more expensive. They all charged a session fee that ranged from $200-350 (this was mat plus newborn later) and then you'd probably spend another couple hundred on photos.

I found a photographer on craigslist that charges $75 for a session plus the cost of photos. I'm expecting to spend about $300 total for newborn pics.

Not super helpful, but in my looking I've found everything was really expensive so I decided Id rather have good newborn pics than good maternity pics. You have better luck with craigslist too. I know some ladies here found great photographers on craigslist that did free/very low fee shots in exchange for being able to use the photos for advertising/experience, etc. I did not have such luck though, haha.

I think I will be getting them, but I haven't looked into it yet so I'm not much help.

sil got a whole prego & newborn package with tons of prints & enlargements for $1000. she also got two bracelets included in that (which r gorgeous)

Im having my friend whos a photographer do them, for free....maybe start asking around for a new photographer who needs to build up their portfolio? Id do them for ya if I lived closer!!!
