I was supposed to see him on the 20th January but thats not happening anymore.

I get a letter through the post this morning with a sample pot and 4 path lab envolopes (one for the pot and 3 for bloods)

The basic jist of the letter was we have to make Gary an appointment with the hospital so Gary can do a sperm sample in the pot and i have to be tested for Rubella. I also have to have bloods taken between days 2-7 of my cycle and then CD21.

I wont see the doctor untill all the following has been done and they have my test results back.

I can do the Rubella testing no problem but its impossible for me to do the cycle testing since i've not had a period since 17th September.

So i phone the number on the letter and speak to the Drs secutary. I give her my name and deets.

I told her i had recived my letter and that I cant do the cycle tests because ive not had a period. She then tells me to wait till my next cycle (It either must have sounded as if im not on like right now and due to come on) and i tell her, Thats a problem because i've not had a period since September 17th. I heard some clicking (im guessing froma keyboard) and she says "aah yes. I see now. It says on here. It also says you've had a scan" So i tell her yes thats right. She goes on to tell me to go for the rubella testing and that to book Gary in for his sperm appointment and that by the time his sperm sample has come back they will have my rubella results and she will ring me to see if i have had a period in that time. But she then said if i do have a period in that time go down to the hospitals blood lab and get my bloods taken when i need too.

She never said what would happend if i dont have a period when they get the results back though.

Hopfully we will be able to book Gary an appointment very soon...I really dont wanna do a long wait! Although i can only phone when they are open on either a Monday and Friday between 8.30 and 12 noon.

ugguggh that all sounds pooey that you have to wait....however at least things are happening what with the testing and all that and it does sound like things are moving forward....why don't people understand that some of us ladies have a period like every 4 months or so...gahh I hope that Gary's SA comes out good and your period comes sooner than later Emma!

I must say that reading your post made me very happy and giggly ...first I just pictured them sending you pot (like drugs pot) in the mail....I'm like - I must move to Europe! Just kidding.. I finally did get what was happening ....but I kept smiling reading you talk about the "post" "deets" etc. I want to go back to the British Isles!

It sounds like they do things a lot differently over there? Is that the norm?

I'm sorry you have to wait around for some of the testing, that is a pain. But hopefully you can get a plan soon! KUP!

Emma, I'm sorry they are kinda mucking you about. It's hard with it being New Yrs just now too I hate that you didn't get enough info as to what to do about AF etc. Did your doctor not say anything about getting medicine to start AF when you saw him/her at first? If you are confused by this, book an app with your own doc - MIL did that when she had to get tests done on her heart... her doc sat and explained everything.

I must say I did laugh when i read the letter that said the pot was for Garys little swimmers
I didnt think they would need to test Gary with the problem being with me. We know we can have kids (I have a two year old that proves that) I just want to ovulate to catch his swimmers

I had pushed this outta my head over christmas. Wanted to focus on Mia so didnt dwell on it too much. (The envolope said the letter was put in the post on Christmas eve)
The doctor never mentioned anything about giving me something to get AF started. I thought she would but she never. Maybe they are just waiting to see how long i go before i do have AF??

I feel like my body wants to ovulate but there is something stopping it.
Ive even been getting pains in my tummy, mood swings to the point i think shes coming, but nope. nothing.

I didnt realises Drs could do that though Fi. Would my dr be able to do that now i have been refered to the fertility doctor??

I'm sorry they are making you wait. Hopefully you can get Gary in soon, and things start moving along after that!

*Hugs* That sounds so frustrating. I'm also finding that starting the medical assistance route is a lot more trying than I hoped. It's a whole lot of waiting. I hope the SA is good, and that they can get your cycles restarted! Keep us posted
