So we are stuck at home tonight because of my "screwed up child" that no one wants to ever help me out and watch(Seamus), mom, brothers no one will watch him. One of my friends texts me and asks if we are staying home and I said yes, I was thinking that maybe she found someone(her 17yr old bro or something) to watch the kids (or who ever is watching her 7mo old), but no she replied back asking me to watch one of her other friends(who I dont know) kids while they all go out tonight. Um No, I'm stuck at home every day with Seamus at the end of my rope with no breaks, dh has only had about 6hrs of sleep in the last 48+ and I'm already bumed about not doing anything I'm not watching someone elses kids that I don't know in my small house when I'm already irritable. Grr, sorry had to get it out.

I can't blame you! You'd think people would have a little sensitivity. If it makes you feel better, I am stuck at home as well. DH is going to a party.... and I have pneumonia.... blah. But yeah, I definately wouldn't want to watch the kids of somone I never met. That's just silly. You are not a nanny service. I hope your friend knows how rude she's being.

That's rude. I wouldn't want to watch anyone's kids never mind someone I didn't even know. Spend it with your family and enjoy your family maybe get some take out or something?? I dunno, something to change it up a bit!

Hope you have fun at home regardless

Ya we'll be playing WoW and I got some rum in the freezer may have some with my pepsi or a wine cooler.

She text me twice after saying that it would give Seamus something to do and give us some money...I'm not in need of money enough to need to babysit for it, we just dont have any extra to be going out even if we had a babysitter. And I'm not going to stay awake with someone elses kids till after midnight,(who knows how late, bars are open till 2am on normal days). Just irritating, especially because she knows I'm super stressed with Seamus lately and I need a break then she thinks I'd be willing to watch some strange kids. (and Seamus has to go to bed at a certain time anyway because of the melatonin we give him)

Thanks girls

We are staying in too.....in fact, I'm sitting on the couch right now with my hubby who is playing Super Mario on the wii and I'm drinking sparkling grape juice and trying my hardest to pretend it is wine.

I don't blame you for not wanting to watch some unknown kid...hopefully you can do something fun with your hubby after the kids go to sleep.

My family
He has some issues, behavioral and learning(but that they dont care about) I think it all stems from his bad delays as an infant/early toddler we've just never found the cause of it after a few tests by the doctor(he had pretty good delays 6mo+ behind)

Well that's really too bad Justine and totally not fair of your family....sounds like a child like Seamus needs extra love and attention - not shunning....if I could I'd give him a big o'le hug

Sorry your family isn't being helpful. It's so tough when you just need a break from being a mom 24/7. I'm learning that as well.

I hope you had a good time with your hubby. We stayed in as well. At midnight I was nursing Matthew b/c our neighbors are doing fireworks and it's waking him up. It's going to be a loooong night until they stop.

That's an awful thing for your family to say about Seamus. I'm so sorry about that.

We're staying in too. I agree with you for not babysitting the other child. It was very insensitive for your friend to suggest.

Despite not being able to do what you had planned, I hope you had a nice evening in with your family! That sounds like a good evening to me anyway.

I'm sorry no one would watch Seamus and I agree that your friends arent really that much of friends knowing that you're already frustrated and asking you to watch some random child like you're a baby sitter and then trying to reason with you on why it would help benefit you (which it wouldnt at all). Screw them!!!

Nonetheless I hope you had a good evening.
