Well we just had a scare
Henry was standing using his rocking chair for help. He tried to grab at the cat who was walking nearby and lost his balance. So he feel face first hard on the floor. He was crying pretty badly so I picked him up and blood was like oozing out of his mouth. I've been thru this dozens of times with the kids I work with but this is the first major thing that's happened with my own son. We're thinking he bit his gums some how. It was all coming from the top of his mouth but there was no marks on his lip. Guess I'll be checking his mouth later
I feel so badly for the kid. He's been teething all weekend adding 2 more top teeth to the very area he hurt.

Poor Henry! This is a hard stage for them to be at. They get so many knicks and knacks.

Owch! Poor little guy!
That is a part of motherhood I don't look forward to. You can tell I have never been a mom nor do I have experience with babies because I jump every time they even look like they are losing their balance.

When Gem was first doing stairs she tried the brick stairs leading up to our front porch. She tripped and split her lip on the stairs. It was horrible! I hope Henry feels better soon!

This same thing happened to Harrison when our "former" second dog bit him in the face....somehow she got her mouth around his lip and punctured only the inside of his mouth...we couldn't get a real good look in there so we took him to the ER...they said they can't stitch inside the mouth really but they gave him a really stong antibiotic incase of infection....that may be something docs would want to do even for a fall..bacteria can still get in there if its a sizable cut.
How is he now? Poor little guy.....unfortunately its not going to be the last thing.....I just was talking about this with DH last night....I do not want Nora to ever have her first "fall"... but I know its inevitable.

This morning he's acting as if it never happened. In fact he's at it again right now. He's standing next to the couch and trying to let go.

Well, that's a good thing! He's determined, not frightened by one *minor* experience lol. I would have died. I hate anything near head bumps or injuries!!
