Do you have Vaseline over there? (Petroleum jelly?) It's a great barrier, so it should stop the acidity and ouchyness from the poo meeting his skin.
What I used on Kirsty the one and only time she had nappy rash was Bepanthem, but not sure if you guys get that?

Definitely bath him a couple times a day until it's better! Sitting in a warm bath was the only thing that helped Gemma's diaper rash. I would just gently wipe her clean and then sit her in the bath for 10-15 minutes and dry well. Then I would put Desitin on her and change her diaper every 45-60 minutes no matter what. She had really sensitive skin! I hope poor Henry feels better!

I hope to try to start CDing tomorrow. What creams are safe for CDs?
I've heard the baby wipes are making it worse. Is that true? I only wipe him if he has a BM.

Diaper less is the best thing.
I've always, always been told no baths, sitting in the liquid makes it worse(what my pedi said and from experience)
Desitin or Vaseline works well
but diaper less has always been the thing thats worked the best, it can be messy but the air helps to heal it and not being trapped with moisture against the skin.

Theres one California Baby that's supposed to be ok. You can use other creams if you use a liner in the diaper, just take piece of fleece(get a scrap roll from walmart) and cut it up to be wide enough to cover the diaper and long enough so no cream gets on the diaper.

try to keep the buttski dry. Any cream with vaseline in it is good, because it will keep moisture away from the redness. If it doesn't go away on its own, it could be yeast.

Another good treatment is yeast infection cream!! Not vagisil, but the monostate or target brand. Cleared Morgan's REAAAALY bad diaper rashes up super fast!!

Vaseline and A&D Ointment (original) are great for diaper rash.
I'm not sure if this is an option due to his loose stools but it helps to let the bum "air". So if there's a particular point in time when he doesn not normally stool, then you could take off the diaper for a bit.
Check for signs of infection as well. If it starts to look extremely red and inflamed, you'll need to take him to the pedi.
Hope the rash clears soon. It must be really uncomfortable for him.

Not necessarily. Ive seen all types of diaper rash, and have treated them as well. Usually when their burnt like that, aloe vera will take care of the burn, and yeast infection cream will take care of his PH balance, and keep infection away. All diaper rash cream is is zinc oxide, which is a fungicide. Cloth diapering will deffenetly help, but so will the yeast infection cream and a luke warm bath to keep it cleaned off.
