Rylie turns 1 March 25th and we'll have a small get together with family. I'll be buying everything about a month before her b-day

We are having a joint party for Curtis and him at my IL's house. I'm super excited!

Stephanie is the first one up with Dustin and Curtis' party.

I'm next with Amara's. We're just having the families, the godparents and my neighbour who has 2 young boys. It's going to be simple and I think we're going with cupcakes.

I recently bought the following birthday party supplies and am praying that they get here before his birthday.

I'm using the same one for Rylie! I did the 1st birthday princess theme for Taylor

We have horrible dilemma's surrounding Kirsty's birthday *takes deep breath*

Her birthday is Thursday 4th Feb... my parents live 3 hours north of here so it'd have to be a weekend "do" as dad works Mon-Fri... however, I have my business planning courses on Sat 30th Jan and Sat 6th Feb - boths Sat's either side of her big day

(Kirsty is snoring in bed right now LOL - so OT but cute so thought I'd share)

Mum is disabled and can't get into our house, so I have to "go out" somewhere, which I hate, I wanted a family gathering in my house, Kirsty's home.

Soooooooo!!! I'm thinking of asking my parents to come down on the weekend of the 13th Feb and getting DHs parents & my parents to go out to lunch with us. But it's not the same, I wanted to BAKE lil cupcakes, ice them and put sprinkles on top, and do balloons, and party hats, and party plates in MY house Perhaps I'm being dramatic, but Kirsty will be my only child and whilst I do not "spoil" her, I will never celebrate another 1st birthday, ever!

My rant/moan is over now!

There are a lot of babies turning one in the next few months. I can't wait to see pictures.

Mari - I love the party decor. It's so pretty.

Fiona - I'm sorry. I would feel the same way. I wanted Oliver's party in our home too. There is no way for your mom to be able to get in your house with some help?

Lisa, great minds think alike.

Fi, I'm sorry. I know you'd like to have it in your home but is there anywhere where you can go and set up with all your party supplies and still bake your cupcakes, etc?

I know it's winter so a picnic is out of the question but what about your parents' place or your ILs place? Can everyone meet at either of them and have it there? But that would interfere with your classes....

Can you rent a place or would that be very costly?

Hmmmm, not sure what else to suggest but I'll keep thinking.

----

I've settled on cupcakes and they're going to look somewhat like these ones I found on the internet perhaps with less icing. And the colors of the icing in these match with the party supplies. I hope they come out well.

Fi, I know what you mean about having it in your home and doing decorations! Like Mari said... is there any halls or restaurant that you could "rent"? Some restaurants have separate rooms that you can rent and I'm sure even decorate. Do you know of many moms in your area? You could ask around and see what's available. I think any place you choose and decorate will be great I know it might not be home but I'm sure you could make it have a great cozy feeling!

We don't really have the money to rent, which is why I wanted to do a home thing. HAving it at mums would mean DH, Kirsty, me, MIL/FIL, SIL & her hubby all travelling 3hrs north...

Having it here would mean mum & dad travelling but it wouldn't be at home.

I guess it's not such an issue really. I'll be sure to get a bunch of special balloons, and party hat for Kirsty. She wont know any different, all she will be concerned about on the day will be "mama, where's my lunch?" lol!

Mari and Lisa - I am thinking about the themed plates u picked. Funny.

And yea we have about 2.5 mons til my girl is 1. But I think we will not have a party til she is 13 mons old. Dh may get a job soon and we will move and it will be easier to come back in April and have her party. But I really don't mind that it isn't on her actual bday or super close. Alexa won't know and I am still EBFing only and want to make the 12 mons mark b4 giving her any solids.

Fiona I hope it works out. I think a party at another location that u can decorate and bring cupcakes would be fab. We don't have a place of our own and will have to have it at a hall cuz I don't want to have it at familys house. Hugs Hun!!!

Can't wait to see pics of all our bday kids. Awww kids and not babies

^ That's a good idea.

We'll be doing that as well. We are doing cupcakes for their birthday dinners and then doing a joint party at my in laws since I can't really have more then a couple other people in this place.
