Our pure bred chocolate lab is very sick! The vet has been running tests for the last week and have no idea wth is going on with her! She started coughing up blood so my parents took her in right away. They said she had pneumonia and would get better with meds. She has gotten worse. Other than coughing up blood we never would have known she was sick. She still had all her energy (she is 8 going on 1 she thinks she is still a puppy!) now in the last 3 days she can't walk without coughing up some blood and has no energy or appetite. They have to run more tests but at this point they have no clue other than "it's not cancer" I'm sitting here with her now and she just isn't herself it's so sad! I'm housesitting for my parents this week and it's going to be hard watching her like this

Ya they sedated her on Tuesday and drew some fluid from her lungs we are waiting back on a culture but they said they are basically taking guesses now. I think my parents are going to be bringing her to a different vet next week if the results don't show anything.

I would think you would have heard something today....can you call the vet's office? I just feel terrible when I see helpless animals so sick (or people/babies for that matter!!!!). I hope they do find something so they can treat it!

that long!? thats ridiculous, well Im sorry you are having to see your puppy go through this and you can do nothing. I guess just make sure she doesnt move around a lot, but stays fed and hydrated. I would suggest picking her up to take her outside to use the potty, but a pure bred lab is realllly heavy. KUP!

She is *almost* back to herself!! She has been on the meds for a few days now and she has gotten almost all of her energy back! She is still hacking but no more blood! She jumps up on "her" couch to snuggle, she dive bombs into the snow and after she is done doing her business she races to the door.. She coughs after but it's all her idea to run! I've had such a great weekend with her and she's been great at taking her meds! Thanks for all the T's & P's!
