My cousin and his wife just became parents. The baby boy was delivered today at 30 weeks. It turns out my cousin's wife had untreated pre-eclampsia. Apparently, her doctor kept postponing her appts because he was too busy delivering babies each time. So her pre-eclampsia went undiagnosed, until the other day when it progressed into full blown eclampsia and she had 2 seizures, at which point they did an emergency c section I feel so bad for them and hope the mom doesn't have any lasting ill effects from this. THANKFULLY, the baby is fine, but they want to keep him in the nicu for some time. I was told mom seems to be doing alright too. I just can't even imagine how scary it must have been for them though. It reminds me of Jack's birth and I am so thankful I went into the hospital when I did, and got treatment when I did. I cannot believe this doctor of hers. How can you let a woman go completely unchecked like that!?! I hope she really does not suffer any ill effects, and that the baby stays healthy

Please keep them in your thoughts, and send prayers their way if that's how you roll. They are a really sweet, christian couple and this was their first baby.

Huh, JM erased a bunch of responses.

I haven't heard anything else yet. They live out of town so all the info I get is via phone. No news is good news I suppose since last I heard they were doing ok.

Sorry Michelle! I am a late night poster and must have posted late Jan 14. I have been thinking about you and your family. Thank you for the update. I'll continue to pray. I hope they both get to go home soon!
